I'm pretty cynical about this subject, so I'm off the opinion that no matter who we elect, all they are are just puppets for the business interests. Your opinion?

Corporate interests are definitely represented in Washington. (I don't know about other countries) But so are other lobbyist groups. Fortunatelyfor us, our legislature is too incompetentto do major damage so all we see is a gradual accrual in waste and expense. They do screw up royal on occasion but, when that happens, all they have to do is blame the "other side" and nobody will notice.
It matters what kind of power you mean. Power to influence culutre, I'd say Hollywired. Military Power, the government. People power is expressed in the streets, not by government or hollywired. People have the most power, but don't use it as often as they should.
I do. Just me, personally.cpo335Damn it. I knew you were trouble from the beginning. *rallies for angry mob* :P
It depends on what situation we are talking about. Yes, like you I believe that whichever politician we elect, they will just pander to the big businesses or the lobbies with the most money.
However, if at any time the government does something unconstitutional, the people have the right to take the government down a peg. No matter how much money the politicians have backing them, they can't stop a full scale revolution and even if they did, they wouldn't have much of a country left to govern. So I think the people are the most powerful because the government can only do as much as the people will tolerate.
Yes, but when your population base are people like Americans, many of whom spend much of their time obsessing over the latest pop obsession...It depends on what situation we are talking about.
