yeah. The point is there is no need for you to post the same story everyone already knows,in a thread dedicated to the grief over losing loved family members. You do not always have to be the center of attention.

Both my Grandpas died, one when I was 2 and the other a few years ago. Also one of my dogs whome I love died when I was on vacation about 10 years ago, and another of my favorite puppies died when I was at school about 2 years ago. And a cat of mine had diabetes and died about 5 years ago i guess. But all my pets and my grandparents lived long and fulfilling lives, so im happy for them :)

I try to remember that too. It is okay to be sad about losing a loved one, but it is also good to celebrate the fact that they lived, and all of their contributions.

There are worse ends than death. As for original question, I lost my Mum when I was way young, so maybe a couple close friends dying have stuck with me.

My father died when I was one and a half. I dont count it because I never really knew him,it was more like an empty hole than a loss. My Gram helped my mother with me and my brother because of my dad dying. That was part of why it hurt so bad when she passed, she was like a second mother to me.

I've lost three granddads. My grandma on my mum's side was divorced and remarried. We lost them both a months time after eachother when I was in 6th grade... My dad's father we lost last year in autumn. Not that we had a whole lot of contact, it still stung at his funeral.

Hearing what you're saying dude - I think it's more the not knowing than grief that sticks around in those scenarios. But you either fall to pieces or get stronger, so hopefully it's the latter for ya :)

Sorry for your loss. Three of my grandparents have died, but unfortunately I did not know them very well. I cannot say they meant the world to me, but I did care about them and was sorry they died (though one passed away when I was still too young to really appreciate what death meant).

My granddad on my mother's side was the hardest death I've had to deal with. We lived next to each other and I sought to emulate my life after his more than any other. Very rarely have I ever grown that close to another person. Aside from that granddad I've experienced the death of my other granddad, my great grandmother, 2 aunts, my Sunday school teacher, a friend from high school, several in my church I'd visit at their homes and in the nursing home, the best friend of my cousin, etc. In all, I've personally known about 20 people to die in the past 5 years...

my good friend who i knew since i was 7. he was 7 years older than me, knew him for over half my life, didnt hang out that much cuz he was more of my best friends friend. but he used to ask me how me and my family were doing during some lame **** that was going on at the time. he was an amazing guitar player, he could play any deftones song you called out it was awesome. we were out swimming in folsom lake CA on july 4th 2007, we were all swimming to a island and he drowned on the way there, i didnt know he was drowning and neither did anybody else, i almost drowned too, but a speedboat chick let me hang on to it to get to the island. me and my friends were like where the **** is he, they thought he was playing a joke cuz he did that stuff all the time lol. then my friend swam back to shore and got help, the water rescue came out and shouted out to us where we last saw him, i had to go out there since i saw him last, eventually they pulled him out, he was half black but he was white as ****, they tried cpr and all that **** but he was dead long before they pulled him up. he was only 20 and a great person, he was working his ass off to help support his lazy *** mom and sister who are both morbidly obese cuz his dad is in prison. he was also a great snowboarder. i knew him from my parents church, he had good morals and stuff and me and my friend would always think it was weird and boring since we were always getting high and drunk and stuff. but its real whack when someone who actually tries to have good morals and doesnt be all lazy every day passes in a real ****** way. not real religious or sure what happens when we die or if anything happens at all, but i like to believe he's in a better place shredding some sick mountain or playing his uitar even though he believed that there would be a ressurection thing at the end of the world etc. but he didnt judge me for having different beliefs unlike the majority of other people in that religion including my parents. i hate 4th of july now lol. only other person i lost who meant alot to me was my mom's dad, he was awesome and really loved me and my cousins, died from cancer even though he never smoked, worked hard all his life and just when he was getting use to retirement he dies from a slow painful and BS disease. just hope that when i die its quick peaceful.
