Do you like to cook? If so what is your favorite/best thing you can make? Sorry if this post sucks, but I'm hungry.

Love to cook! Cornbread from scratch is my specialty. :) I make good red beans and rice... basically typical southern food I'm good at. I also enjoy making curry when I feel fancy. :P Another favorite? Spaghetti tacos. :D

I want to get into cooking, I want to learn to make my own Thai and Indian food, my mom has nothing but Italian cookbooks though, but there's the internet. And I want to attempt a bacon bomb or bacon explosion or whatever it's called at some point, I've been dying to try one (and I probably will die because it sounds like a heart attack in a bite). And I like spicy food so I want to experiment with utilizing small amounts of ghost peppers for their oil (never had one though I hear they're the hottest pepper in the world), to see if I can give stuff flavor with them, but I'm going to be cautious about that because I've seen people in pain over them. I also want to attempt making either sweet potato or pumpkin gnocchi (as I've only had regular gnocchi which I hear they use potatoes instead). Anyhow, cooking ingredients can be expensive sometimes, probably the biggest thing holding me back from experimenting.

You can find good recipes for this online and honestly it's not as hard as I expected! This is from a Southerner who has grown up on fried everything, I expected Thai/Indian to be really out of my league. I'd recommend buying curry paste to start with and only make your own when you're feeling super ambitious or have had more practice. Great thing with curry is that it's nigh impossible to mess up; you can add more sugar or spice or curry powder infinitely until you get the right balance. Very mutable too, once you get down the basics, changing up the meat and vegetable combinations is very easy :D

Love cooking - I'm not great at it, but I love it. Indian food, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, soups, stews, stir-fries, desserts, anything. I like to make everything from scratch if I can, including bread and (sometimes) pasta, I even grind my own meat most of the time. I've made perogies before too, though they're up there with manicotti/canneloni and cabbage rolls for things that taste good but are way too fiddly in terms of prep. And it's a good thing too, as I do all the cooking for my family. My girlfriend wants nothing to do with the kitchen. I think my favourite standby dishes are spaghetti and chili - two easy things that can be done on the stove relatively fast, or in a slow cooker all day, and can be served with fresh or dried pasta, homemade cornbread, fresh bread, whatever. There's also nothing quite like a simply roasted chicken with olive oil and paprika or a lentil or pea soup.

My passion in life! I want to be a chef when I grow up and go to culinary school.

Just a couple of my creations:

Frenched rack of rabbit, spiced carrot puree, parsnip soup

Compressed melon salad, pickled watermelon rind, basil oil, chocolate balsamic pudding

Filet Mignon 'en bleu', caremalized onion puree, butter poached potatoes, chive garlic butter

Tomato 'tartare', mango 'egg yolk'

Liquified caramel popcorn; popcorn broth, caramel air

I'm really into a more whimsical and modern approach to my food and cooking :P

i LOVE cooking. while i dont know if i have a favorite dish. my three favorite ingredients are mushrooms, cheeses, and tomatoes. the things you can create using those ingredients is incredible

my favorite meal ever is steak, maceroni and cheese. and greenbeans (I mean these properlly not boxed. i bake my maceroni with tomato soup its incredible. and i love the natural appeal of steak dishes let the flavor of the meat just come out, no puns)

Not really. I do not have the patience for it. For the most, I stick to simple meals that require no more effort than taking it in-and-out, flipping it over, etc. In that sense, I guess you could say I am kind of your stereotypical guy, other than fact I almost always opt to use the oven, as opposed to some other folks who often settle for the convenience of the microwave.

If you really did those, they look damn tasty. Looks like you could be a professional cook to me. I'm looking to go to a cooking school, but want it more so I can cook for myself as I find it incredibly satisfying when I make a good meal, plus cooking relaxes me.

I know how to make a few things.....beef tongue (best cut of the cow), hot dogs, spaghetti, BBQ steaks, baked chicken, beef stroganoff, and all the usual side dishes (mashed potatoes, brocolli, rice, etc.) but my best creation by far is garlic chicken. Six thighs browned, then cooked with garlic and mushrooms in white wine and chicken broth. Best. Food. Ever.

I really wish there were a cooking union here on GS.

I really want to cook and I plan on learning more when I love alone to experiment :P So far all I've ever cooked are scrambled eggs. Recently though, I've been able to make little cupcake-like stuff (called "puto" here) and some baked pancake-like thing (called "bibingka" here)

beef tongue best cut? its 100% muscle, no fat.... I mean if you thinks its tasty... eat the hell out of it.

But in terms of what makes a good cut of meat on a technical level, beef tongue is worse than flank steak :P

Actually tongue is very fattening. Lots of fat. Maybe not the best cut, but best to me. Nothing beats the taste. Some A1, mashed potatoes. Mmmmm. It's hard to find though-most major chains don't have it. :(

I'm (almost) a vegitarian but I enjoy food as long as I can stomache it. I got a weird situation with meat, I find I suddenly don't want to eat it, but then sometimes I can. I have to trick my mind into thinking it's not meat, which is easy to do with burgers or sausages, or if it's sliced or diced into very small sections and curried. If it's too meaty, too raw then I vomit as soon as it touches the roof of my mouth.

Oh and I love to cook pancakes.

I enjoy cooking though I am out of my brother's league (certified executive chef) though he will eat my cooking and is surprised how well I do compared to him. I smoked a NY Strip Loin for him and out parents and turkey breast (for his wife) last week and everyone enjoyed everything. I prefer to BBQ and grill but can cook in the kitchen.

I like finding new recipes, drooling over them and then failing to cook them, either because I cant find some ingredients or due to other problems (my inability to cook included).

Don't boil them!!! Talk about ruining food.

You can put ribs straight over coals, I have, you just have to keep the heat low so you don't burn them.
