I see all these 56k death warnings and I wonder if they're even needed anymore. The cheapest DSL you can get is only like 5 dollars more than dial-up, and its tons better. I mean come on, who hasn't made the switch to high speed already?

But usually where there is no DSL, there's cable. Sure, it's a little more expensive, but if you use the internet alot and go to forums and play online gaming, it's worth it.

I do tech support for a few ISP's and there's some people that can either have dial-up or satellite... and last time I checked, satellite is kinda expensive.
I have a 24K connection. I would give my right leg for DSL or cable, but it isen't avalible in my area. The only other connection i can get is satilaite, which is 5x more expensive, almost the same speed, and it goes out all the time.

Hey I do, and yeah I used to treat 56kers poorly.. but one day I watched this documentary about the life of an average 56ker. It will bring tears to your eyes :( Its a cruel world.

I know right? I tried to shoot one once, my gun backfired because the 56k-er's internet wasn't fast enough to keep the bullet in the air...so I ended up getting shot. How lame right?
