ive been stuttering all my life and now im 19 and it just doesnt want to go away! Somethings I cant say and I hardly talk when im outside because of it. People think im weird. Tjeremiah1988

I have a lispe (spelling?) problem. But I have learned to deal with it. A lot of people notice it but it doesn't bother me anymore. Me and my friends can laugh at it now.

I used to, I don't know.
The way you fix it is by taking a mental image of yourself when you speak. Control the words and when the stuttering doesn't let you speak, breathe in and out via the nose and mouth.
Should be enough help.

Where else do you suggest somebody breaths in and out?
i dont but I used to speak with a lisp....it sucked, I was afraid to speak :(

I do on occassion...
I think it's sort of a confidence thing. Subconsciously, we're not sure of what to say, how to say it, or if we should say it at all. What results is a stumbling over words. The thing that's hard to pin down is that it usually happens to more shy people...but do they stutter because they're shy, or are they shy because they stutter?
