I know I am. Jumped like 5 or so lbs with all of these feasts and pies.

It's probably a lot of poop too.

If anything I gain weight from muscle because I work out and eat healthy. The holidays don't really affect me as I never treat it as an excuse to be gluttonous towards food.

I don't know if it's on my genes but I don't get fat. I just stay thin even tho I'm trying to gain weight by eating more meat and vegetables. Does Protein Shake helps?

I'm the same, but I found 1 food that works, potatoes, not fried, just boil them and eat, works for me.

I cant put on weight im stuck at 46.5kg max. Ive been told put on weight as i am under weight and do keep getting head aches . But all i get told by doc is eat more salt. I really cant eat more than i am as i have alot any way i even have 2 packs of crisps a day along with other stuff but doc keeps on saying eat more salt. My blood pressure is quite low but pulse is always in the high 90s. So if eating more salt my pulse be even higher. I Do eat alot of heallthy stuff too not just salt.

Maybe try foods higher in refined sugar? Most people, myself, are needing to do the opposite and reduce our sugar intake (U.S.).

oh yes definitely. this week i'm being good (though i had an awful weekend. well a wonderful weekend but an awful weekend :P) and i'm going to try and keep my weight under 90KG (so around 3KG to play with). but yeah once DEC hits im going to be eating at maintenance-ish and come christmas week all bets are off.

someone has to eat the mince pies and im willing and able to do my bit. with coffee...and cream. and maybe some cheese and crackers on the side.

...er...keep it under 95KG osan0...under 97.

I'm pretty much incapable of gaining weight just from eating. My body doesn't really store any fat, so the only way I can gain weight is by eating a ton and working out a lot to gain muscle mass. If i just sit around and eat I'll actually lose weight since I'll lose muscle mass.

Took a trip to New Orleans with the wife. We ate like kings while we were there, but I tried to keep the portions down to reasonable sizes. My wife ate good meals too but she took the leaner options more often than not albeit still good food. We also walked literally everywhere (covered many miles each day) and I worked out most mornings in the hotel gym (I suppose not surprisingly, but there wasn't a lot of competition for the gym in a New Orleans hotel at 8 in the morning). When we got home we found that we broke even on weight for the week, much to our amazement.

Nope. I'm not a greasy, gluttonous, sloppy, slug of a human being.

I used all the extra lean protein for muscle gains.

No, just the flip-flop/fingerless glove wearing, bathe-once-a-month types who pull a box on wheels from drop yard to drop yard. I work in a facet of the industry that actually works physically for a living. I've gained weight because my wife is a great cook/baker, lol.

I always put on a little weight over the winter, mostly because I'm not walking 20 miles a week like I do the rest of the year. If my nose didn't get runny the moment I step out into the cold I wouldn't mind, but hell.

But yeah I'm sure mom's food has something to do with it, too.

@plageus900:

Turkey protein for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?

@Byshop:

A lot of us should be walking for our king sized meals. The cold weather... just makes you want to lie in bed and be lazy.

At home I tend to not walk anywhere, except when we park to walk around an outdoor mall or something like that. When I travel it's the exact opposite.

I do my best thinking while walking. You live in a bad neighborhood or something?

Quite the opposite. House in a large suburb. The nearest restaurants or shops are a 25-30 minute walk away at best. Generally I don't have the time to kill an hour of transit to and from somewhere I can drive to in less than five minutes.

I live 2.5 miles from downtown, takes me exactly 30 minutes to get there. There and back obviously 5 miles, I usually try to do it 4 times a week. Sometimes I shop or stop to eat, sometimes I just go for the walk. It's cathartic.

But I understand if you don't have the luxury of time. Been there.

But you know, get a dog and you'll have to find the time to walk daily. Unless you're one of those mean bastards that would keep a dog outside instead of in with the family where a social creature belongs. If that's the case, we cannot be friends. :-p

I tend to do the same while vacationing, visit the hotel gym early AM. And yeah, usually have the place to myself. There's something about being out of town that makes me feel more productive and need less sleep to do this.

I travel for work a lot, too, so it's part of a "regular" routine to do that when I'm on the road. I've been to hotels where I had to wait in line to use a machine at 7AM.

Me. Me is going to gain some weight on Christmas :) Hopefully will be able to drop it off later in gym though. But it's like that every holiday - getting fat quite quickly for a few days, and then spend months to get back to shape :)
