My dad is a funny, highly conservative guy from the Philly/South Jersey area. He fought in the Vietnam War, and he's full of great stories about everything. He does some work with some local insurance company. I don't even really know what he does... I just know that he does a lot of computer work, which he likes.t3hrubikscubeAwesome ;) I'll always have respecdt for people like him, according how you describe him.
scratching at the lid of his coffin
But seriously my dad's been dead since I was 1 and a half,so while it sucks that I never knew him,I dealt with it and got over it years ago.
My dad is a supervisor/director for the Catholic Relief Services. He gets sent to different countries in need of foreign aid (he was most recently in Darfur and in Indonesia) and is going to now be sent to the South of Sudan. He's been in a lot of places and is very multi-lingual.
I miss him a ton since he is over seas A LOT (I see him every two years maybe :( ) and I always worry for his safety (especially when he is in Sudan). Whenever he is in those dangerous places,
I can not watch anything or read anything about those places (the war stuff) because I just start crying. I worry a lot for him but when he calls up he pretends like it is nothing.
Me: Hi Pa.
Dad: Hello!
Me: Whats new?
Dad: Nothing much. Oh they burned some of the village houses and kidnapped one of our co-workers during a carjack. But I'm okay here. I bought [Insert random movie here] on DVD. Have you seen it? It's really good!
Me: WTF PA! BE SAFE!

Ha! nice topic name.
My dad is Yvan and he currently work in high schools around the region. He sometime clean the place, fix things up and do a bunch of stuff. The pay is actually really high and he enjoys the variety. Speaking of my dad, i have to go visit him.
In a funny way my dad is truly a MacGyver and will create or fix anything with anything. Last summer for example he was fixing his car door with metal scraps and duck tape.
