Mine would have to be Dan Briggs of Between The Buried And Me. This is a video of him playing his bass solo viridian. He is truly amazing. Very Underrated. Who's your favorite Bass Player? The Bass solo starts at about 1:02 in the video.

Depends on the style of music. For Jazz its Jaco Pastiours. Metal its Justin Chancellor from Tool. For slapping its between Flea and Claypool

Well, the only famous bass players I've heard ofare Paul McCartneyRay Brown, so I'll have to go with Ray Brown, even though he played the upright bass. I like him more than McCartney, because Brown played Jazz. Jazz FTW.

yes he was, but the music pink floyd made was great, and roger waters was the driving force, as you can see with the two albums after waters left, the rest of the band couldnt make good music without him. they needed eachother.

anyways he was a musical and lyrical genious, not really a good bass player technically but he did have some great basslines .

who cares what he's like, let the music do the talking.

Id have to say Geddy Lee is the best But, My favorite is Steve Harris He is self taught,Writes EVERYTHING for Iron Maiden,He is also the legal owner of Maiden
