I have two words: holy ****.

That is the best ending to a Breaking Bad episode I've seen, and that's really saying something. Walt searching for the money, Skyler questioning Walt, the shot of Walt breaking down, the phone ringing with Walt's laughter in the background, the "hit" being placed on Hank. All of this while hearing that thud.

What is going to happen now? That felt like the penultimate episode of the season, but it wasn't. We still have two episodes left.

If the show didn't already solidify its position as the best television show on the air, this episode did it.

Oh my god, I could not stop laughing from how amazing the ending of that episode was. They really know how to end with some style. Never ceases to amaze me.

Wow, this makes this show some amazing. I just started watching it two days ago and I think it is the best show i've seen ever. Weeds and Sons of Anarchy come to mind when I think of my top shows and this one is already blowing it out the water after 7 episodes. I'm excited to see more.

I did not, but I will pretend I did.

It was cool.

On a side note, they have filmed Breaking Bad rather close to the neighborhood where I reside on multiple occasions.

Man, that ending...

It's almost impossible to predict. I can see Jesse killing Gus, though. Next week couldn't come soon enough.

Edit - Also, Breaking Bad has some of the best cinematography on television. Aside from that picturesque framed shot of Walt at the end with the camera panning out, that distant shot of Walt on his knees in the desert with the cloud shadow passing over him and the landscape was great.

Double edit - Damn, I just can't get that ending out of my head.

Everything about that scene was pitch perfect; Walt cracking up, the look on Skyler's face after realisng this s*** is VERY real, the pulsating thump, the phonecall, the ending shot of Walt looking defeated with the camera panning out, the white noise and then the credits silence. Genuinely one of the greatest and most intense moments on television.

Agreed with everything. And here I thought Salud would be Cranston's Emmy episode. Not sure which one he should submit now.

Episode 12 - End Times
Episode 13 - Face Off

WOW, I started watching Breaking Bad a month or so ago and caught up really quick. Saw this thread and new I had to watch the newest episode before reading (I already had it waiting to watch). I have no idea what path they are going to go down from here.....it is easy the best show on television imo. Biggest epic fail when Beneke slipped and hit his head haha. Surely he can't be dead? Also couldn't agree more about the cinematography, It really is amazing on this show, so rare to see on tv.

Wasn't it just! Can't believe they're only doing one more season. Its crazy to see how much Walt has changed and my idea of what direction I thought the show was going in has changed. I just thought after Tuco died that Walt would soon become a character much like Guss. Love what they're doing though.

I can't see Walt stepping up as Heisenberg and becoming the new Gus. Throughout the show there have been moments of real moral conflict with Walt, and it's just not something I see him wanting or becoming if the opportunity presented itself, especially not now that he doesn't have to, what with the car wash making a profit. He just wants a way out of this s***storm he's got himself into, which is becoming increasingly difficult to the breaking point. I feel this show is going to end tragically for Walt and/or his family, and I also don't think the cancer is out of the equation either. Although...

[spoiler] Q: Are you worried at some point the show might get too dark?

Bryan Cranston: The very first time I met with Vince about this was about three years ago. The thing that struck me was he told me he wanted to do something, and I realized after he told me that what he just said has never been done on television, in the history of television. To put on a series where your main character changes from one person to another by the end, he said he wants to take Mr. Chips and turn him into Scarface. So that's what is going to happen. We are in a transformation. My character is metamorphosizing from one kind of person to another. This has never happened before and that fascinated me. I'm on this journey that you think, I would think going in that I would know where I'm going and I have no idea where I'm going. It's frightening and exciting at the same time. So we are changing this person. By the end of this season, I imagine if you take him to where you want to take him, that he is going to be a bloodthirsty killer. We're not playing a game here. I really don't know what's going on in his head. It's good. Not many people do. It is interesting to go on this journey, all of us together, and not really know where the end is.

If he's still alive, then there'll be no real consequences. So he bumped his head and got knocked out. So what? Saul's henchmen still sent off the check, Skylar avoids being investigated by the IRS. Granted, Ted Beneke could then turn around and say that Skylar sent some guys out to attack him, but he could have done that without anyone ever getting hurt. What would be the point of him tripping at all, other than entirely for comic relief?

If he's dead, however, that's gonna be significant as far as Skylar goes. It was her that sent two tough thugs out to collect some money, and then the guy ended up dead. She would have actually played a role in getting a man killed, and that goes against her entire "if we do this, we do it without violence" attitude.

Him being dead actually has consequences. And that's why I'm saying that yes, he's probably dead.

I'm fairly certain he's dead. The writers were on a podcast talking about the episode, and although they didn't flat-out say he was dead, they did say they thought up of graphic ways to kill him off. The twitch kind of indicated he's gone.

The Ted stuff was too much of a cop-out to me; I was hoping that Skyler would continue on her own breaking bad path and wind up offing Ted. If he is indeed dead, and I think he is, then they definitely took the easy way out there. Other than that though, it was a quality episode. I can't decide where things go next; I think Mike might turn on Gus and help Walt but other than that I'm not sure where things will go. Also I'm thinking in the next two episodes Hank might finally put two and two together and figure out that Walt is involved in all this. It's getting harder to believe that Hank isn't already suspicious of Walt given how Walt acts around Hank every time the subject has come up.

I don't think he's dead but I think he will suffer brain damage which will be a way out for Skylar but she will still have the guilt as you said.

Bryan Cranston's performance in this episode was ridiculously awesome.
