Who saw Public Enemies?

What do you think of this film? I thought it was okay, but it seemed very shallow and glossy. Marion cotillard was pretty bad and she and depp had no chemistry. Also Depp was kinda miscast, he was pretty good but he was a bit dull. I think Guy Pearce or viggo mortensen would have done a better job. Same with Christian Bale, he seemed almost bored. I would give it a 7 overall I guess, maybe a 7.5.

I spent more time making meme jokes than watching the actual film, but it was fun so I give it an 8.

It was fine. Maybe a little long but I saw it a long time ago so that may be fuzzy.

There was a much better gangster film this year with a similar title. Its called Public Enemy number 1 and it has the underrated actor Vincent Cassell.

By far one of the most disappointing films of the year. It was my most anticipated films by one of my favorite directors. I expected something great from him and his actors, something along the lines of Heat, a deep mainly character driven crime drama. Instead I got a shallow and incredibly underdeveloped film. I didn't care for these characters, I knew nothing about them and they lack so little development. The acting was mediocre at best, Depp seemed to be trying too hard for a role that didn't really need that much work. Bale as you said just seemed bored, as if the character or performance wasn't interesting or intense enough for him. The only thing the film got right was the look of the which I thought was good, but as a whole the film was just bad. I had originally given it a 6/10 but as I write this I must finally lower that score to somewhere along the lines of a 5-4/10. I will still be looking forward to future films from all involved, but I really would like to pretend this film didn't exist....such a let down.
