Thought the first half was better than the last half mostly due to the ending. It almost felt like ET all over again at the end, way too mushy for my tastes. Overall I'd say a 7.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one. I was thoroughly enjoying it, but the ending was just completely underwhelming.

For the record, I don't feel this way at all. The movie was pretty good, the characters were well presented, the pyro kid was funny, and the [spoiler] alien [/spoiler] 's story was just right. I wasn't really feeling the ending, however, but what more can we expect considering the plot? Overall, I like it up until the climatic ending.
I went into it thinking it was an alien movie. Turned out it was more of a love story. Id probably give it a 6/10. Probably the least favorite movie ive seen since Battle LA came out.
I went with my fiancee and we both liked it a lot, she jumped at a few scenes so we both had a lot of fun watching it. I kind of wish they could had kept the whole "secret" a secret and not shown it like they did. The ending felt very slapped on.
It was not a bad movie, I was just expecting a really good kinda 80s buddy-movie, you know? Like Goonies or Adventures in Babysitting or stuff like that.
But the kids in Super 8 just didnt mesh well; there was the main kid, then everyone else. Movies like this do not benefit from having a "main kid"...the group of friends need to be one cohesive unit, and these friends were not that.
The kids were fantastic, the alien storyline and everything that went with it was ****. The ending was an abomination as well. Overall though I did enjoy it, I'd probably give it around a 7 or 8.
Green Lantern got way too much criticism. I thought it was better than Super 8, except for the villain.

The characters were paper thin and the [spoiler] final showdown with Parallax was so dull and anticlimactic (so much build up for a 2 minute fight in which reynolds never even got too beat up). [/spoiler] the whole movie was way too corny and poorly cast. Especially considering the great source material they had to work with.

yeah the villain kinda ruined it for me; otherwise it would have been a good movie.
