Right now I have nothing else to do so I guess I just came up with this thread. Who thinks that Celebs are overrated? I kind of do. What are you guys opinions about them?

Isn't that basically what makes them celebrities?

I think of the pretty, sexy ones. Sometimes as a kid I used to think of the I dream of Jeannie show in the bathtub.

meh. It gets a little crazy if you focus on it too much but I can't help but look at the cover of gossip magazines while I'm waiting to check out at the grocery store.

I pay no attention to Hollywood gossip, I just don't care.

I think that's the point. People are fascinated by celebrities, but why? They're just people who happen to be good actors or good singers, or good at whatever made them famous. And in some cases good at nothing but somehow still famous anyway.

Some of them deserve the fame, others do not. That's just the way it goes.

idk if they are overrated but i hate when people try to act like them instead of just being themselves.

They're just like us... only famous.

Yeah, I think the concept of a celebrity is just stupid, they're just doing their job, they're nothing special. It's like lawyers or any other random professionist being followed around by paparatzzi and having people discuss what case they handled last week, how much their house costs, or what they had for breakfast this morning, it's just ridiculous.
