At first I thought they were equal. Obi wan was a jedi a lot longer than anakin, was trained by yoda and qui gonn, took anakin as his apprentice even when he was training for the jedi trials, and in episode 4, he prepared himself for death so we would become a force ghost with qui gonn's "love" technique. On the otherhand, anakin progressed a lot faster than others, extremely skilled in lightsaber combat as obi wan was, became a jedi very quick, and had the highest concentration of midi chlorians(some belive this is because anakin was created via the force by darth plagueis who later planed to replace palpatine with anakin).

But since anakin was a better pilot, was able to rebuild his combat style with his impairments, and mastered most aspects of the force, I would have to say he's more powerful. Also he didn't even have to learn the force ghost technique to become one when he died.

Before the Vader transformation, Obi Won was more powerful and experienced.

After the Vader transformation and the Emporer's Dark Side training, Vader was more powerful.

Yet Sidious could influence the midi-chlorians to give life to Anakin if he had died x)

Plagueis was murdered in his sleep by his apprentice. Im guessing his apprentice was Sidious but Im not sure, so Plagueis couldnt replace either Sidious or Vader.

I hear ya. I've often said:

"You know I like that guy, at worse I'd like to dismember him and let him burn alive. Nothing worse though, that would be too much for me to handle."

yes but lets be fair most of the reason he was so good with a Lightsaber was because of Obi Wans training ?

The Force flowed through him. He was an amazing pilot so therefore he'd have to have amazing reflexes so he probably wouldve always been good with a blade. Some of it is because his training but I bet he couldnt done it regardless.

At Mustafar: Obviously Kenobi

At the Death Star: Obviously Skywalker

When both are at their full potential: Skywalker would wipe the floor with Kenobi, although I love Kenobi.

I was talking about plagueis created anakin in an experiment or something and sidious killing him so he can become a sith lord. Plagueis was planning to use his creation as sidious' replacement and sidious killed plagueis because of that(ironicly sidious does the same with his apprentices lol). From all the reading I did a while ago, I'm not to sure if sidious even learned how to influence midi chlorians or create life. It's possible but he never taught vader or even mentioned how he would train him in that alchemist skill. However, sidious can transfer from one body to another to escape death which is how he came back after luke created a jedi new order.

Luke did though. He only had a year or two of training and managed to become a jedi knight, defeated vader, and shortly became a master afterwards.

Obi-Wan was the more powerful Jedi. But Vader was obviously more powerful after the Vader transformation, because if that weren't the case then Obi-Wan would've hunted down Vader himself. But it appeared that Mace Windu was the most powerful, because he would've killed Emperor had Anakin not intervened.

I just look at it as rock paper scissors

Obi-wan>Anakin

Anakin>Dooku

Dooku>Obi-wan

I guess Anakin had more potential, but Obi-wan had experience over him.

Anakin was more powerful than Yoda, the most powerful Jedi at the time, as a child. After growing up and submitting to the dark side of the Force he literally became "more powerful than anyone could imagine." He is mother ****ing Darth Vader... Obi-wan is a respectable Jedi but he is a weakling in comparison to Anakin. It is just Anakin is all power and no strategy while Obi-wan has the experience and skill to command the Force effectively while Anakin just blindly throws his power around.

And Luke Skywalker is the most powerful Jedi ever. Easily. He moved planets with the Force.

Yoda had the best knowledge of the force, but Windu was the most skilled with a lighsaber. And Anakin himself describes Obi-Wan in this way: "As wise as Master Yoda and as Powerful as Master Windu" And we saw what happened when Obi Wan and Anakin fought. One walked away, and one had his limbs removed and was set on fire.

Well, Obi-Wan had the high ground. But Anakin later had that eternally cool suit of armor and voice that is no doubt the icon of the series.

I know that doesn't answer your question, but I'm not up for an never ending debate at the moment.

Anakin had the most midi-chlorians which is the factor that determines a Jedi's "connection" to the Force. The more midi-chlorians a Jedi has the greater power they can draw from the Force itself. The only reason Obi-wan was victorious over Anakin was due to his superior skill, lack of blinding rage and superior position (the "higher ground"). Anakin had the sheer power advantage, which in most situations, as all competent Jedi know, means nothing. But he was still far more powerful than Obi-wan.

Anakin was the most powerful no question, Kenobi on the other hand showed a much more advanced use of tactics/strategy, his experience made him an equal to Anakin and the fact he had been using the force for many years also making him equal. Had the age difference not been there I think Anakin would have won.
