A lot of people don't like WWE right now, claimingthe typical arguments of "ugh omg it's not nearly as good as teh attitude era...STONE COLD FTW" or theeven dumber argument of "ugh omg wrestling isso fake and not nearly as good as teh UFC...KETCHUP PACKETS FTL". But a lot of people still watch it today, and even more people used to watch.

So when you watched, who was your favorite wrestler? Or who's your favoritewrestler today?

Ultimate Warrior and Machoman Randy Savage. Today's wrestlers are all exactly the same who have no character. Just tattooed buff guys in black speedos. Where has the fair and originality gone?

I'll have to disagree with you there. Although there's not as much freedom for each guy to stand out and make up their own material as there was in the Attitude Era, there's still a lot of variety in the characters and their gimmicks. See: CM Punk.

It's been a while since I last watched the WWE but my favorite wrestler is The Undertaker, mainly when he was in the Ministry of Darkness stable.

Randy Savage. He was a psychopath. I recall his bout against Ultimate Warrior, and he kept going off the top rope. Repeatedly. I think he was only supposed to do one, but it just got way out of hand.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree because I think The Rock was one of the most entertaining WWE wrestlers ever. I'd definitely rather watch one of The Rock's interviews than one of Ultimate Warrior's interviews where he just yells and makes no sense at all.

(And as for actual wrestling ability there really isn't a comparison, Warrior was a terrible wrestler)

You also have to remember when the Rock and Stonecold, while there getups are boring, when they started out, they looked original. My problem is now almost every single wrestler looks identical.

Yeah wrestling now is almost like a throwback to the 70s when every wrestler was just cookie-cutter generic.

You can easily say that if you don't watch. Maybe the attires aren't as WILD and EXCITING, and the promos can't be as controversial as hijacking a plane since they're currently in a PG Era for numerous reasons. But there's still, like I said, a HUGE variety of gimmicks and characters. CM Punk is probably the cleanest guy in WWE. He's straight edge. No drugs, no alcohol, etc. This is based off of his real lifestyle. At first he did this all as a face, but now he's a bad guy and doing this...I can't even begin to explain how awesome it is. However, I can't take any of your arguments seriously when you say The Rock was boring. I mean, I can't fathom how anyone can have that mindset.

Right there you just described a lot of what made wrestling great that isn't there anymore. You're right there are other aspects but wrestling now lacks the flair, excitement, drama and flash it used to have when it was at it's peak. No more entering the ring on a zipline or getting buried in a casket. You can't even get hit with a freakin chair anymore. In short, the WWE is too safe now and the ratings reflect that. In the 80s through mid 90s the WWF could pack stadiums. Now they're just trying to keep the show on the air.

Then we have differing opinions. While that WWF brought many great things, it brought many bad things as well. Some examples are the Kennel from Hell match, and Big Bossman dragging Big Show's father's casket away from the funeral on a truck. :|

Plus, I think you're taking this a bit too far. There isn't a lot of blood now, and there hasn't been a casket match since late 2008, but I mean, there was just a Buried Alive match a few months ago, and the main event of the last PPV was a chair match (yes, a chair match).

We definitely have differing views and that's fine. The shows ratings and wrestling's popularity reflects mine though. The WWE is on life support right now.

the undertaker, stone cold, the rock, for a little while shawn michael, before his mask removal kane, jericho

my favorite would have to be goldberg. he was just a monster. its fun having someone as dominant as him to watch, he would be "allowed" to finish opponents off in seconds, something they dont really do much except for stupid fluke promotions (i dont watch much, if at all because i dont have cable but one thing that comes to mind is when they try to push santino or prevoiusly hornswoggle without a decent match). This quick matches really asserted how dominant his character was supposed to be. I remember him limping to the ring with a foot cast and the opponents would scatter.

Finlay, when Hornswoggle was a little b*****d and interrupted matches, and Finlay used his shillelagh. When that whole illegitamate son thing happened it all went wrong, then Finlay turned face and then IDK what happened, I think he's gone now.
