It's obvious: China. It has the largest growing economy and a strong one at that.akodikosako
Have you heard about thier business practices and how they steal technology from everyone? They advertise thier low-cost sweatshops to technology companies, and then they steal, mimmick and improve upon the desings, that were given to them to produce, all behind our backs. And we are continually falling for it.
They are also making extremely innovative weapons that could take out out entire navy in a single blow. And they are not worried if we attack them with out nukes. They are supposedly ready to take MAJOR losses. And they have a HUGE amount of manpower, it's almost scary.
China is growing so fast because they were a bottom teir country. It's not hard to advance to technology thats already created. Once they get a few steps behind the tech leaders; US, Japan, Korea in some cases; China is gonna slow to a stop.
Also considering how China is gonna be dependent on oil long after the other countries move on to another primary energy source
Why is that funny? It would be great is Canada became the next superpower, nobody would suspect it and it would catch everyone off guard....Canada:lol:

To be honest there's nothing too superpower-ish about China now and in the future, or even the far future. It's just too much of a corrupt place to call something powerful and united. Most Chinese make under 2 bucks a day, while those born in rich urban places really get all the money, plus the communist government still in use. Also terrible punishments for crime, easily sentencing people to death for almost nothing, public executions, too crammed and populated therefore the per capita income is very limited. camreeno360
So, all that doesn't stop them from becoming an economic superpower. India too.

Both India's and China's economic power hinges on the rest of the world...what happens if the markets shift?

Well sure just because of their population. Even California has a bigger economy than China right now, and look at the population difference: 30 million to 1.3 billion! You can put all of Africa together and it would have a large economy and that's basically how China is. They just have a lot of money for their population.[QUOTE="Apollo5000"][QUOTE="nobodyshero87"]Why is that funny? I wonder how Russia would be in 20 years. Pretty powerful again. camreeno360
Forget being powerful, they hope they'll be able to have everyone fed in 20 years
It will be Liechtenstein, duh!
But seriously, the U.S. will be the superpower for the rest of our lifetimes. After that, it is too tough to say. Maybe Europe when they all form into one nation, but that may be hundreds of years. Maybe China, but I have major doubts.
