Who will end up with the better performance? Bane or the Joker?

This is me coming off just watching dark knight again a couple nights ago. Ledgers performance is not overrated one bit..did a fantastic job. The character was so well developed its going to be hard for tom hardy to meet the expectations.

Do you guys think he has it in him to do a good job?

I know very little about bane, the only exposure ive had of him was in batman & robin which apparently isnt how he is depicted in the comics (apparently he is a mastermind)

Not a fan of how he looks / sounds in this movie but time will tell.

One thing's for sure.....It's not going to be easy to top The Joker.

Tom hardy, just because he's amazing. If you watch Bronson you can see how amazing of an actor he is.

I hope Bane.

Because that means we get an even more jaw dropping awesome villain performance from one film series.

Ledger's performance was great but seriously overrated thanks to all the publicity around the time of the release. Half of the internet worships him as some kind of acting god. SilentFireX

my guess is Ledger's performance won't be beaten. I'd like it to be beaten, but when you do a job that well the odds are just against the followup act.

I really like Bane. He's an evil mastermind, I hope they do him justice in this movie.

As to the acting, while I liked Ledger's performance, I think the advertising on the movie and the publicity from his death really clouded the general opinion on him. It was great, but it wasn't the finest piece of acting ever. I don't, however, expect Bane to be better represented than the Joker.

I'm looking forward to seeing Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. If only to see Anne in sexy leather. Yeah she's my Hollywood crush what of it?

Bane is a great villain, but there's a reason The Joker is Batman's arch foe, not to mention Ledger's haunting performance got him an Oscar as well (though the Academy's opinions aren't really all that notable as of late).

Simply put Bane is essentially the most successful attempt at creating The Evil Version of Batman. If you don't mind a bit of reading you can read Batman super expert Chris Sims' breakdown on the hows and whys of Bane and what makes him so significant.

As for me I thought Ledger's performance was fine but I didn't really find it to be anything particularly special. Tom Hardy is a far better actor and though normally I would say his performance would easily top Ledger's, it really is dependent upon how Christopher Nolan uses him so we'll just have to wait and see as always.

Bane grew up similar to Bruce Wayne in that he was orphaned. Difference being Bane was forced to grow up in prison and fend for himself. Everything he has was earned contrary to Bruce Wayne having it handed to him being a rich kid.

In the comics Bane learns of Batman & wants to challenge him and take what he has & break him.

You'll more then likely see that happen in this movie.

When I first saw Bane I thought he looked very similar to the KGB Beast from the miniseries. In that one Batman goes up against a super KGB agent who consistantly overcomes Batman. The final sequence was great. Batman has the KGB Beast trapped in a room and he challenges Batman go come and fight. Batman simply closes the door and locks him in and walks away lol.

in the cartoons and even the previous batman live action movies, bane was always portrayed as a brute and not a mastermind, I think its going to be interesting to see that aspect. But he isn't going to top Heath Ledger

As long as his acting is good enough to make the movie enjoyable I'll be happy

I just rewatched Ledgers performance and he steals the show everytime. His performance is incredible.

I would be amazed if Bane even got close, but I hope he does.

Is it just me or does Bane not look threatening? I know he would look comical if as huge in the books, but he doesn't look dangerous at all.

I'm sure the movie will change my mind, but as of now he looks average.

joker's character provides more potential for the actor to show off.not that ledger's performance wasn't great.i just think it would not be fair to compare the job of the two actors together unless the preformed the same role.

It's going to be very hard to top the Joker for me. What Ledger did with the Joker was just incredible.

I only knew bane as a rampaging motiveless villain from the animated series I watched years ago so it better exceed my expectations.
