A guy with so much style deserves a huge following. I mean just look at him...

According to John Adams about a third of the colonial population would. Another third of the population was opposed to the war all together, and only the remaining third wanted to end colonialism. I'm talking about the people in this thread.to quote Thomas Day: "If there be an object truly ridiculous in nature, it is an American patriot, signing resolutions of independency with the one hand, and with the other brandishing a whip over his affrighted slaves"
Hey, we got around to that eventually! :Pto quote Thomas Day: "If there be an object truly ridiculous in nature, it is an American patriot, signing resolutions of independency with the one hand, and with the other brandishing a whip over his affrighted slaves"

You have to remember, at the time, everyone was still "pretty-much-European". It's like asking an American now if he'd turn on his President.
I'm Canadian, and you guys got a real bad rap for 1812. British for me, if we're rewriting history.

is he considered a "guy" ? he's a crossdresser lol !!!
Hehe, hence my sarcasm.
It was the way to dress at the time for Royalty, but you'd have to get me very drunk to wear that.
Britain, George Washington actually started the 7years war between Britain and France that cost Britain so much money and led to Britain having to increase the tax on the colonies and the rest they say is history.

Rebels, of course...a federal constitutional republic resulted, which is a far cry better than what the people were under at the time, which was a cruel monarchy.:)

lol why do americans think england lives under an all powerful king or something? ever heard of the English civil war? it happened like 140 years before the American revolution. the Monarch had little power in Britain or the colonies. The picture of King George as a mad tyrant is a myth. the Colonists were angry at the parliament, the king was just a figurehead.
I'm American, I'm going to side with the rebels. If the reverse happened, who knows? I might not exist.
If I didn't know already, I'd have definitely guessed from your Boosh avatar :P This btw.Being British, the Brits!

The Rebels. That way, in the Battle of LitteBigfoot when all hope was lost and Stalin was mere moments away from global domination I could be part of the resistance that was able to fire a single proton torpedo into the exhaust vent of the Lusitania.
The british of course, i'm a very patriotic guy ;)Nercay
If not for the rebels, then WW1 and WW2 would have ended for the worse for Britain.:)

Heh, I'm not so sure I agree with all of that. It's at least possible that we should have stayed out of WWI altogether, preventing an overwhelming loss for Germany, and perhaps not setting them up for failure to a level that would call for a dictator a few decades later to save them.
If that pans out (not saying it's a surety), then WWII wouldn't have happened, at least not due to the same dynamic.
Hindsight is 20/20 though.
