Who would you say is/was the most talented rap artist of all time? I've always liked Kanye West but I'm recently listening to alot more Jay-Z.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Not my favorites, but Big Pun, Big L and possibly Tech N9ne are probably the most talented I've heard...

WTF @ people voting anythign but biggie on that list.
Other is acceptable since there are better ones but wtf? Kanye better than big? :?
I don't like rap, but I do enjoy some songs by Notorious B.I.G.
Wouldn't say it's great but he didn't make me won't to tear off my ears.

yeah, it takes some getting used to, he doesn't stick to any particular formula or style. when you get down to it though, his lyrics and stories are incredibly witty and original. i love the guy (actually named my daughter jaime after him). i was like you at first, but he eventually grew on me and he's definitely an acquired taste.
Hmm, you put Kanye and Jayz in this poll, are you on crack wii60_3
jigga is one of the greats my man...
How do you feel about guys like Sage Francis, Atmosphere, and Murs? I like them a lot.yeah, it takes some getting used to, he doesn't stick to any particular formula or style. when you get down to it though, his lyrics and stories are incredibly witty and original. i love the guy (actually named my daughter jaime after him). i was like you at first, but he eventually grew on me and he's definitely an acquired taste.

eh...i feel sorry for young people. you grew up with some god awful music. sure there is some out there worth listening to,but few and far between.Go listen to some big daddy kane, some krs1,public enemy, sugar hill gang,a tribe called quest,ll cool j,heck even some hammer, some 3rd base, run dmc,dj jazzy jeff & the fresh prince,..ect..there were so many good meaningful artist in the day its hard to mention them all..I suggest you go back, pull up some youtube, discover what and where your rap came from..
I not only like rap but i love music..i was raised in the days when MTV,BET,VH1 where actual music channels. I gew up when you NEVER heard this music on the radio and hardly ever the tv..BELIEVE ME..the closest thing to rap we had in the days was new eddition "mr telephone man,candygirl"..lol..

The Game?

Um, what?:|
I respect your opinion and everything, but Game's become a sell-out. He recently started jackin' Hopsin's style.
Im laughing at you having lil B and Asher Roth on your list, Game is 100x better than both of those.Give a listen to the Rawth EP and Pabst & Jazz, then come back and try to say the same thing. ;)
Also, Lil B's just a troll. I love him because he's the perfect example of how young people will literally hop onto any bandwagon, despite how ridiculous an artist is.

- Asher Roth
- Mos Def
- Common
- Nas
- Lupe Fiasco
- Del Tha Funkee Homosapien
- OutKast
- Lil B

Duuuuude, you're missing out. :o Del's one of the best rapper's I've ever heard. If you can, get your hands on his album Both Sides of the Brain. Trust me, the man's a beast at what he does. Same with OutKast. I can't think of a better hip-hop duo.
