I think the question is pretty straight forward.

My favorite president is, without a doubt, Nixon. Yeah I know Watergate, blah blah blah, but his views on foreign policy were pretty brilliant, and he did a great job as president cooling off the cold war after a decade filled with tension.

Now of course the man had his demons, and the questionable and illegal things he did in office haven't been and shouldn't be forgotten. But if you were to judge a president solely on merit, you'd be hard pressed to find one who did as much good for the world in the modern era than my boy Milhous did. In my opinion of course.

I blame Nixon for intensifying the Vietnam War, letting the South Vietnamese on their own with the Paris Peace Accord in 1973 on completely insufficient terms, and for making help to them impossible when they needed it the most (if for no other reason than Watergate). That's something I can never forgive him for, no matter how futile people say the war was in the first place.

He was great at answering multi-part questions. Smart man, despite the whole Watergate thing.

Alright that's cool, you're entiltled to your own opinion. Now of course I disagree with you, but my opinion is no better than yours.

You know that was just a political maneuver to drum up support for the war right?

I don't know much about US politics, but I'd have to say:

Woodrow Wilson or Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

I'm all for abolition of slavery but it seems like if you are going to idealize someone it should be based on their motivations for their actions and not on the actions themselves. I mean I like that slavery was abolished but I dont necessarily like Lincoln for it because I think he did it for the wrong reasons. I mean this is the guy that said if he could end the war without abolishing slavery he would have gladly done it. He did end slavery and keep the union together (something I'm not entirely sure was right) but he was certainly no abolitionist and to remember him as such is just false.

I've always been a fan of Theodore Roosevelt myself. Shame he has no record on civil rights for minorities and from what I remember has made a few speeches which aren't exactly flattering to minorities.

I honestly don't like any of them but since I have to choose.. Theodore Reesevelt is probably the most resonable one we've had.

Reagan or Roosevelt.

Reagan was pretty cool.

And Europe would have fallen if not for Roosevelt. The alphabet agencies helped alot.

I also liked Truman

And Carter to an extent.

I voted other because all of my favorite presidents are dead. Those were the real guys who got things done and helped advance us to where we are...we're just now letting that be torn down over the past 15+ years and continuing with everything going on now and this being an election year.

I like TR. Now Lincoln meant more to the history of the US, as did FDR. But as a person, how he became VP and President, and his love of being President I like TR and his story more. Of all the US Presidents TR was truly the most fascinating to me.

John F. Kennedy - because of his involvement in Civil Rights

&

Bill Clinton - because the U.S. had the longest period of Economic expansion (during peace time) under his presidency, and the U.S. also had a surplus of $559 billion dollars when he left office.

He stated that if he could win the war and still allow slavery, he would. The Emancipation Proclamation was meant to encourage abolitionists to sign up and fight in the Civil War because the Union was having trouble gaining support.

Ronald Reagan. He crushed the Iron Curtain and brought the US out of a severe economic recession which Clinton put the US right back into. Plus:

Who cares? The state of the economy is not and should not be controlled by the president. I hate it when people look at the president as the be all, end all in the government.
