Why are gey people so hated?

It seems that the most hated group of people on the face of the Earth are gays.

In almost every country, they have been killed or put in prison through history.

I know some may saw religion, but I think religion is just an excuse, not a cause. The cause seems to be more phsycological than anything else. Can anyone who has studied phsycology answer this question?

I don't hate them...

but I believe most don't like the idea because they have they believe that men are supposed to be with women and vice versa.

Thats the most accurate thing said so far. It shouldn't worry anyone that people hate gays. Those who hate, hate for no justifiable reason. Their opinions are not worth the time it takes to think about them.

It's funny how everybody writes there's nothing wrong with it, then writes "Im not gay If there truely was nothing wrong with it in your eyes, then why is that even worth mentioning?

Tolerance takes awhile to build up. Most people have it by now, but hey, there are still the racist comments, they haven't gone away yet. I don't think true racism or homophobia will ever be gone completely.

Your ignorant if you believe anything you see on t.v. You ever see t.v. shows where noone even knows the guy is gay until he tells them? Do you think all black people shoot up places because thats what you see on t.v.?

i am a total homophobic, but i have gay friends. I am very rude sometimes though. My barber is gay and i keep calling him suzy, thought his name is Jamie. I just don't think though....they can get obnoxious though, loud, and the speech impediments, AAAGH,drivthes me nuths.

Actually Latinos are hated more than Hispanics...Most Latinos come from Central America, and Hispanics are from South America but their ancestors are from Europe.

Eh, ok, I guess my memory of that thread isn't all that good.

i dont 100% take in the stuff i see on tv of course but even when i see shows with real gay people they usually act in a manner that i wouldnt wanna be around (im not taking shows like family guy but real stuff). of course still i have nothing against them because ive never met one in person nor will do i generalize them all to behavior in a girly manner but stil they dont seem like my kinda people.

I don't know, but in some evolution thread that was up yesterday, someone brought up a link to a site showing atheists to be the least liked and considered the least trustworthy.

It all depends on how you look at it. I'm gay and I don't have any trouble with friends or colleagues or even strangers. If I hear someone say gay or drop the f-bomb it doesn't bug me because the way I see it if I said "Oh god that's so straight!" A straight person wouldn't stop and say "Hey man WTF!!!" So why would I? Some people how ever are more sensitive then others.

I have met some ignorant people though and if and when I rarely encounter these people I just stay calm and try to talk some reason into them instead of acting ignorant back. I don't want to stoop down to their level.
