Why are happy people so annoying?

There are some people that are perpetually and happy to excess, and they can get to be incredibly annoying, like wait staff at TGIFriday's that take their job a little too seriously. The problem is, I'm not sure why someone else's cheerfulness should annoy me. They're happy, what's my problem?

Maybe I wasn't clear, I'm talking about the excessively happy, the outgoing people that say, "Turn that frown upside down!" or, "Looks like someone's got a case of the Mondays." The chipper, outgoing people that get in your face to try to make you just as happy a they are!

I'm not an unhappy person - quite the contrary - but those Type A personalities that get in your face with their own zest annoy me. I just haven't been able to indentify why, since their intentions are generally good. :?

Probably, because the people who are annoyed by the happy, arent happy. If everyone was super happy all the time, it wouldnt seem as annoying.
