why are people so threatened by shy people

Seriously though I have no clue what you are talking about. Ive never known anyone to feel threatened by a shy person unless they are smiling menacingly in a corner mumbling curses and so on at people they dont like.

i doubt anybody find shyness threating... maybe picking up girl wise cause chicks dig the shyness

I'm not threatened by people who are shy. It's more of, I'm a very confident open-ended person, I say what i want when I want to say it, without really thinking about what I'm saying. I'm very out-spoken, wild and hyper. So when i'm around shy individuals I purposely throw them into conversations, or get them to try to talk, when they don't that's when i get irritated. perphekt

Eh, for me though, it works 90% of the time.

I have a rough exterior, I'm kind of the girl that other girls/guys look at and aren't sure if i'm, nice... per say... I'm not mean (i can be, obviously) but i'm a very caring person, but i just come off as a hard ass i guess. So, when i'm around someone that's shy, i'm usually being myself and cracking jokes, goofing off... so they come out of it. Seeing that i'm not, a gigantic **** Ha. :)

But yeah, sometimes you're right, it just pushes them deeper into it and it's a lost cause... i don't stop what i do around them, but i think i might scare them.

I've never known anyone threatened by a shy person. A shy person may be misunderstood...but that does not mean they are considered a threat. Perhaps if you elaborate more on your idea.....LJS9502_basic

i have no idea, people in high school were scared of me and i had never sayed a word to them. its probly something to do with the news media playing up everytime theres a shooting especialy in schools that the shooter was a loner.

i'm a shy/reserved person. I really don't talk much but people in the past have assumed i'm being unfriendly or rude, which is not the case.

I don't think people are threatened by them... They don't understand what they're like, so people can be wary sometimes, I guess.

Theoretically I would say that shy people are hard to read. If you don't know what they are thinking, you might irrationally think that they might go on a murderous rampage.
