I don't get really why there are considered such shameful words, in public. I mean, some of them are pretty nasty and rude to say, but others..I don't get.

Swearing isn't necessarily bad. It is, however, largely unecessary. When someone uses expletives as punctuation marks in their speech, I seriously question their intelligence.

They aren't bad, but they also are not necessary.
Using them too much makes you look ridiculously ignorant.

this, and when you use it like in an *** hole way.
Words aren't inherently bad, it's how you use them that matters.-Jiggles-Actually they are. Take the C word for example. In anglo saxon this was a passive word but was adopted as a war cry because its the most violent sounding word you can say. So its very sound is inherently distrubing however you say it.
People decided that there should be extreme words used only to show extreme emotion in extreme situations.
Then some people overused the words and ****ed it all up.
Well, it's really a simple concept. Some people may argue words have no value at all and are neither good or bad, but this doesn't make sense in the terms of how language is used and others relate to each other.
It's just that you can't have positive words, without negative ones. Or the positive words wouldn't exist either. So yes, there are positive and negative words. Without either there is no contrast and with no contrast no meaning behind language.
Of course we have to consider cultural pressures on language and how language changes over time. But essentialy there will always be both good and bad words in a culture. For purposes of communication there must be both.
"cuss words" are like the metaphors used in poems to make them sound good.sun-sonYeah man, they sure spice up my sentences. ;)
