The whole changing the Constitution to reflect God's word thing. That turned many people off.

I'd say a lot of people don't want a religious leader as a political leader, for one

He's a nice guy, but he's pretty darn conservative... almost to a ridiculous extent.

For one he doesn't know much about foreign policy or really the rest of the world. I bet he can't even locate Romania on a map.

I'd say a lot of people don't want a religious leader as a political leader, for onexaos
WERD. What did we learn from the Medieval ages? Separate church from state. Slapping huge jesus fish logos on the wall behind you during campaign speeches doesn't really follow in that spirit. I have no desire to see the US thrown back into the dark ages TYVM.

I love Huckabee. He's a great man and a great speaker. Talks right from the heart. In my opinion, he's the type of guy that wouldn't have a hidden agenda. He's straight foward. Some of his beliefs seem a bit unorthadox but I like him.

But he's not going to win. I know, he's too involved with religion. Some poorly chosen candidate like McCain is going to win.

I agree that Mike Huckabee is extremely straightforward. Last week (maybe two weeks ago...I can't remember) when they had the Republican GOP debate, him, and Ron Paul were the only ones giving straightforward answers, rather than beating around the bush. Too bad it seems like many American people can't appreciate an honest, straightforward candidate. It would be a toss up whether I would give him my vote or not. I don't know if he would pull in enough conservative votes to beat Clinton or Obama.

Of course they can appreciate honesty. It's the honesty about bad ideas that they don't like.

He's an evangelical with ridiculously backwards views. He would want to turn the US into a theocracy. Any candidate that thinks that science isn't worth believing shouldn't be leading anyone. We don't need a religious leader.

Pulling religion into government is a bad idea. Keep the two seperated. Personally I am Christian, but I don't believe in a leader that hides behind any form of religion instead of just getting the job done.

I refuse to support any candidate who claims to proudly stand by American ideals and supported this bluff war on the basis of "Democracy", yet claim they want to double military prisons like Guantanamo Bay. You can not firmly believe in the Constitution and liberty, and claim to wage a war on the grounds Democracy, and then support pulling innocent people from their lives and imprisoning them without giving them our Constitutionally bestowed right of a trial before a jury. It's hypocrisy.

Huckabee said he would replace the Constitution with God's law.
