Why are switchblades/stilletos/butterfly knives illegal? I live in California i find the laws udderly rediculous. You are aloud to own a handgun that is loaded inside your home but you cannot own a knife that opens automatically. Why does it matter how it opens? Doesn't it matter more about what happens after it opens? They saw "Oh Oh criminals use it" but sure enough criminals totally do't use guns either (NOT). Dont get me wrong i love the right to bear arms but, this i just done understand...
i guess too many idiots have had it open up in their pocket or hurt themselves with it haha who knows, theirs many things in this country that dont make sence if you look around.
Well maybe because knifes pose a real threat to the communities' saftey. It's a part of the constitution to bear arms, so far enough as not being allowed isunconstitutional. It's just obvious, the less knives on the street, the less stabbings and attacks.

No one said it would keep them off the street, it's still legal to sell them BUT if the cops find one on you it's another charge they can add on 'carrying a concealed weapon'

Switchblades are nice, my greaser friend brought one to school one day, then he brought a butterfly knife. I think the bastard is always armed with one.
