Why are the Simpsons yellow?

I don't get it. Every other animated show, all the characters are normal colored... why are these guys yellow?awmannn

It may be because every animated show have normal skin tones and they wanted something to make the simpsons stick out from the crowd.

I don't know why but their colour and their animation (the way their bodies move) makes them look like cheese-people. :P Tastey!

Because yellow is epic.

Then again, she also made the trees purple, which we didn't go for. It means the Simpsons look like no other cartoon characters, though. I don't like that skin colour they use in cartoons. I think I'll stick with the cheese version I explained in the beginning. :P
