Really the only good thing you can say about Transformers is that it had good action and special effects. 300 was fun to watch, but in perspective it was a mediocre film. Most action movies now a days are just sloppily put together films Hollywood ****s out to make money. That's the problem with Hollywood, films to them are a business not an art form (long live indies!). And everyone says "What do you expect from summer action movies?". Well, I see no reason why action movies can't be good films. Here are some movies that prove action movies CAN be good.
The Terminator 2
Jurassic Park
Indiana Jones
Star Wars
A lot of the James Bond films.
The first two Spider-Man films.
Saving Private Ryan (well, sort of an action film...)
Pirates of the Carribean (the first one)
For the most part, these movies have good directing, writing, acting... AND KICKASS ACTION! Come on Hollywood, you've actually done it before, why don't you make millions AND make a good product instead of just tricking people into seeing films because of super hype and dazzling special effects but a complete lackluster in EVERYTHING else?

O god...Optimus Prime had some of the gayest lines I've ever heard in any movie. I'm not joking ethier, special effects were sweet but Optimus Prime should have kept his movie shut and the humor obviously geared toward the younger crowd was lame.

Exactly my point, people today think special effects are what make a movie good. It use to be about the story telling, and real art of it. Now it's just mindless cheap thrills. Hollywood butchered my passion :(

If they would have made transformers without the poorly done love aspect, take out the lame younger humor, and made the lines the transfromers said less.....retarded, then not only do you have a movie were crap blows up but you won't have to sit through robots hiding in the kids backyard, hilarious right! No. Really boring.
