Why black people shouldn't celebrate the fourth of July

Slavery no longer exists, nobody is alive who took part in it either as a slave or an owner, blacks have equal rights in todays world, if anything, they have more.

The only reason slavery wasn't abolished by the Declaration of Independence was because the southern states never would have agreed to becoming a free nation but nonetheless ....

People seem to forget that our founding fathers weren't some sort of gods, many of them hated each other and had completely different ways of thinking but they all believed in freedom, liberty and an independent United States.

I don't agreewith what Chris Rock said. However, I do not blame people who might have resentment towards holidays like this. Are they just supposed to ignore the fact they would have been slaves if they lived back then?

From my experience, they're less likely to get meaningful degrees though. I went through alot of science courses in college and I saw alot of asians and Indians and that was it.

I suspect that's the reason.
