Haven't heard the tale, but I read on what Genghis had done.[QUOTE="Calvin079"]
[QUOTE="Bitter_Altmer"] I was going to bring up the Mongols. They were incredible. And yeah, the celts used shields... but they didn't rely on it armour so much. Real men. Civilisation should be like that these days. Celts were a terrifying nation to grow up in. Even Mongol civilisation wouldn't have been bad. Have you ever heard the tale of Genghis Kahn giving a goodwill gesture to the Khwarezmid Empire?Bitter_Altmer
You read on the fact that Genghis gave two chances before totally annihilating an empire? I guarantee you, if the Celts were in that position ( Though never as strong as the Mongols were), they'd do it without giving any chances.
Genghis was a bloodthirsty bastard, but his masterstroke was Subotai, one of the greatest generals in military existance. Its unfortunate the Celts never had a leader and general like them two.
S'ppose. Speaking of great Generals in war, I'd say Field Marshel Erwin Rommel was among the greats. Never mind the fact that he was a German. He fought war like it should be fought: He lead his men for his country not for the Party Line. He fought war without war crimes. Winston Churchill spoke well of him and Parliment was shocked that Winston was speaking well of an enemy general. Rommel met his match when Alexander Montgomery took over the Desert Rats.
