I thought you couldn't eat meat on ANY friday during lent

In the Catholic religion, you're not suppose to. correct. But ive not seen anyone give the reason why yet. ....:| why is no one explaining? Well I guess its up to me then *sighs* Ok, well in the Catholic religion you are supposed to give up meat on Fridays during Lent because it is a sacrifice we offer up to Jesus who sacrificed his life to us. It was decided by the pope that meat was a good sacrifice and usually the easiest to sacrifice. Its a sort of a pennance as well. If you for medical reasons or what not cant sacrifice the meat, then you can substitute meat for something else, like candy, pop, sex ...(lol) , video games (o noez!), tv....well you sorta get the point (i hope).
It's to hard, I mean it's Friday, who in their right mind would not eat meat on Friday, I got to church every week, and this is something I don't understand. Why is fish not considered meat?
Your not forced to do anything in Catholicism (and Christianity). Your given free will. So if you don't want to eat meat on Good Friday, you don't have to, if you want to, then go ahead.
