He was an alien, so people feared him as he had awesome super powers such as growing the best moustache ever, and ofcourse everyones favorite, his mysterious way of talking.
I would love it if I could talk like that.
[QUOTE="Junkie_man"]I'm surprised so little people know that it actually is a hindu symbol of propsperity. I was taught that at school.SSCyborg
You'd be suprised to read what people think on this site.

Well I know he wanted to become an artist as a young kid. So maybe he thought it was a good painting.mattzz10
He did take his interest further than that, but when he failed to make money through it he tried to enroll at a school of architechture, but was turned down. One theory I've heard is that this rejection was one of the causes of his anti-semitism, as a large number of the admissions staff were Jewish.
Seriously though, it's a hindu symbol of prosperity.

My history teacher said that the teacher who turned him down for art school was jewish and that the doctor of his mom was jewish when his mom died. You'd be suprised to read what people think on this site. I wouldn't be. I read the topic titles and know exactly what a lot of people on this site think and it's not pretty.[QUOTE="Junkie_man"]I'm surprised so little people know that it actually is a hindu symbol of propsperity. I've also heard that he blamed the Jews for trying to force an end to WW1, which seems the most convincing to me so far.

Actually after WWI, Germany was left in shambles and the only people with wealth left in the country were.....you guessed it --- the Jews. Also part of the reason many Germans were actually following his orders because they could see it for themselves. It's just easy to put the blame on others.

its NOT just an eastern symbol, that symbol has been used in almost every ancient culture at one point.

Which makes it all the more likely that he would hold a deep hatred against those he felt responsible for the surrender. But you're quite right as to the reason he was allowed toget into power.

Germany became so bad, at one point a basket full of some currency was stolen. What the people were looking for was the basket, they could care less about the money as its value dropped soo low.
I´ve got a samurai book and in it there is a picture of a swastika. Under the picture it says that it´s the battle flag of some general. So i guess it has meant different things for different cultures.
Because the swastika was said to resemble power and the sun, if I remember correctly._Marisa_
Nope. Definitely hindu symbol of prosperity. It might mean different things in other cultures but Hitler chose it because it meant prosperity.
When Hitler created a flag for the Nazi Party, he sought to incorporate both the swastika and "those revered colors expressive of our homage to the glorious past and which once brought so much honor to the German nation." (Red, white, and black were the colors of the flag of the old German Empire.) He also stated: "As National Socialists, we see our program in our flag. In red, we see the social idea of the movement; in white, the nationalistic idea; in the swastika, the mission of the struggle for the victory of the Aryan man, and, by the same token, the victory of the idea of creative work, which as such always has been and always will be anti-Semitic." (Mein Kampf).[33]"

NoDo you wish to elaborate on that? Read a book on hindu symbols and I garantee it will be that. Hitler was obsessed with the Aryans so it makes perfect sense.
