Why did they stop selling iPods and Zunes that are 30-80gb?

Because there wasn't enough demand for them. They would make so few that the price would be about the same, anyway.

People don't like iPods and Zunes that are 30-80gb, maybe?

No one was buying them. Ipod classic was worse selling ipod a few years ago. People want the cool aps and more features over extra space though 80gb would be very useful as a external harddrive aswell

So that they can sell 120GB models for the same price. Though the 120 GB Zunes have since been discontinued. Don't know about the iPod Classic.

I see 80gb IPods in stores all the time, but you can't even get a Zune in Canada anymore.

I just checked apple's website and the classic is still there. But it didn't receive a new model. But to answer his question it's bc the 80gb are the old models.

I could care less about apps, gadgets and other stuff. My Zune 30 is gonna stay with me till the wheels fall off.

Or until the battery starts depleting. Unless if the Zune allows you to change the battery easily.

Surprisingly, my battery is still fine considering how long I've had it.

I remember my Ipod video's battery was good even after 4 years. I used it everyday. I was surprised the ipod broke (would not have been expensive to fix but I wanted itouch) before the battery died. Usually though the battery dies first. If only they made it easy to switch batteries like how it is on most cell phones. Cause batteries aren't expensive.

The focus of the industry has changed from just music to making multimedia devices, which is a shame in my opinion because the hard drive based zune's were fantastic for simply finding and listening to a **** load of music (especially with the subscription music service they offer). I just want my mp3 player to be able to play music - I would never sacrifice higher capacity for the ability to play cube runner.

simply put, even though people want it, they don't demand it (are willing to pay for it). I've seen it happen with veggie burgers in BK and backwards compatible ps3s. People say they want theses things, but a company's not going to provide them if no one actually pays for them.

Well Microsoft doesn't make Zunes anymore. At all. Zune now just refers to the music service.

They may still be available, but my friends brother works for Microsoft developing for Zune, which is where I got said information. That friend also works at Microsoft now.
