I think we're all pretty pathetic, masturbating constantly just for mere pleasure, communicating on an internet forum about mindless garbage, and so on.

I digress, these Bullies you mentionmay have been oppressed as children, and therefore experience depression, insecurity and hopelessness. Their interaction with violent media(think television and even video games, sadly)establishes a way of expressing such repressed emotions into theirsubconscious.
