Why Do Female Gamers Get Treated Differently Than Their Male Counterparts?

I find it easier to play without a mic on on Live and PSN, but when I play with one on it's just a horrible experience when we are in public chat. Hell, I even made my avatar a boy. Boys just think they are the best at everything. :(Blixxed

Why would I give up and move if I don't agree with everything going on where I live? If you read the second part of my post addressing the other poster, you can see that I do not like taking the easiest or most convenient way out. I generally DO be a little nicer to female gamers. I suppose do to the fact that just about all female gamers I've played against don't seem to take it seriously. But if they do show some skill, then I won't show no mercy. Kind of like how one girl on Mario Kart DS showed a little sign that she can snake. When she started to do that, I took her more seriously and finished the race about half the course in length between her and me. But after a while, I couldn't help but feel bad about defeating her in such a way. If a girl beat me when I am trying my best, I will say that she literally beat me and it wasn't a fluke.....tocool340

I'm not going to edit my post. Honestly, I don't really mind getting modded for something like forgetting to put a :) or a :P . I feel people on these forums (especially the mods) try too hard to be politically correct. It kills the joke if I have to put in parentheses (THIS IS A JOKE THIS IS NOT MEANT TO ****ING INSULT YOU) to indicate that I was making a sad attempt at humor. Lighten up a little (not you Sajedene).

People don't realize you're funny, that sucks.

Because like most things that started out as a predominately male thing (sports, hunting, etc) we don't really like it when women come in and start doing it way better than us when we have been doing it for so long. Make no mistake this happens with women also. When I told my mom (our primary cook)that my Dad made better spaghetti sauce then her one night she had her ego damaged even though it was just one time and she usually makes much better sauce than my Dad.

Because males think that females aren't as "good" as them in everyhting. It's juts like that saying, "You fight like a girl". Boys just think girls are too weak and scared and that all they do is spend an hourdeciding which outfit to wear today, or worrying about who is dating who. And it's true, because most girls only worry about that stuf and usually aren't prepared for, in this case, video games. We men, however, have better things to do than girly dress-up doll stuff. Same reaosn why the military doesn't allow women to serve as foot soldiers in close-combat. Or why girls don't play football. It's because they're too "frilly". so, yes girls would be treated differently. (probably going to get a lot of bad comments from girls =/)

The fact is that even if you want to play videogames in peace, you are not allowed to. Now you have one of two choices: To be complacent about it or to (take arms) and stand up for what you believe in. If people did not stand up for their rights, then you females would still be unable to hold jobs, go to school, vote, etc. You can't take your rights for granted, yo.

I might do this to a nerd, who knows. Personally, after being around them, I'm not too fond of their kind.

Females are treated different than males because they are different than males. lol, pretty simple. Same goes for the other way around.

Edit: not so much to do with gaming, most people I know probably wouldn't push out pointless insults to a women online like they would to a guy. I don't think most people play alot different though, just talk differently.

I thought I would give me input on this. I have 100% respect for woman and I have no clue why guys get all weird when they here a female in the lobby. To me it is very stupid. They need to go out and find some real woman. I think is just falls in line with the ignorance found in online gaming. Like I get picked on and taunted by the nerds with nothing better else to do aswell, so of course they are going to mess with the females.
