Not mine. My wife's ex-boyfriend was a lawyer and had a pompous attitude to go with his profession....a total prick. She didn't like it one bit which is why she hooked up with me.

I can be a total prick too. But, it's usually directed at someone else and not my wife.

I had a girlfriend in highschool that was really into me when we first started dating. Then six months later i let the "i love you" slip out. About a week after that she broke up with me. What's funny to me is i wasn't into her when we first started dating and i kind of treated her not as good as i did later on, so why would she like me the most at a time when i treated her rather poorly??

P.s. she creeped on my facebook to see if i was talking to other girls in the begining, then 6 months later after me saying i love you she split and didn't want to have anything to do with me???

This i just don't understand. Some insight please.

Some girls never grow out of being drawn to poor relationships, I think it stems from them having father issues or just having a crappy childhood.CursedChamp

Often times its a result of abuse (usually sexual) or having a VERY strict upbringing, these kinds of gals subconsciously seek out abusers to form unhealthy, sick relationships. Guys that are abused will usually take the role of abusers as adults, women will generally take the role of victims. It is important to find a way to break this cycle because this can go on their entire life.

cause people are brought up with the"if something is hard, its much more worth it" mentality.so when people, especially women, find something,a man or generally a situation that unfolds very well they dont appreciate it cause its easy.

Kind of hard to answer since I don't know sp[ecifically what "treating someone poorly" in your context was, or "treating her better."

I guess to answer why some girls might go into a bad relationship? maybe desperation, or maybe because of growing up in a bad enviroment and getting a poor idea of what makes a good relationship.

This. Once you're not in a little kid relationship, the issue should go away. There will always be people who are, for whatever reason, a glutton for being treated like crap, but for the most part, that goes away after HS.

Pretty much. If a girl still "likes" guys that treat them like crap outside of HS, there's a very good chance there's daddy issues there.

Most girls have no idea what they want through high school and even college. I wouldn't even say that they like being treated badly; they often don't know the difference between "good" and "bad" behavior early on. I'm not talking about sexual assault-level bad, just general teenage boy dickish behavior.

Of course, some girls/women still like bad boys even after college. Not sure why.

When you shove a bunch of hormonal teenagers into the same building for 8 hours a day, you can't expect a mature level of communication to be a factor. Actually we suck at communication in general so you are just SOL.

This exactly. You can't expect a high school girl to act in a way that makes sense. You probably don't, yourself. Don't worry about it. There is literally no purpose in investing yourself, mentally and/or emotionally, in a high school relationship.

It's not just an HS thing. Fact is that young women don't really seem to like it when men are really into them. They don't like to be treated poorly necessarily, but plenty of women are turned off when a guy dotes on them too much and are more attracted to a guy if he's just a bit dismissive. Not neglectful, but in my experience women like you more if they think they're easily replaceable. If they think they're irreplaceable, very often that's a relationship on the outs. Believe me, I learned this the hard way and subsequently changed my behavior. The results I get are a lot different now.

I am not saying that this was the case here, but it is not that they like to be treated badly; some girls simply like the challenge of having a guy with some behavior problems.

They think they can be the one that will "fix" him, and that sort of difficult task is what attracts them.

Simple answer - they don't.  Or at least the non-masochists don't.  Tolerating a situation does not mean they like the situation.  Why they tolerate mistreatment is whole different can of worms, though.  There are an awful lot of reasons that a person may remain in a relationship which is clearly not working out.

It is because they have no self esteem. They hate their existence, but they place very little value in their judgement so they seek others who will reaffirm their self hatred. They are depraved creatures.

Girls go after douchebags who treat them like crap because girls are taught at a young age that if a boy is mean to you, it means he likes you.

I think if you met most of the girls and women out there who fit this type, you'll find they aren't depraved my most interpretation of the word. Except for your interpretation.
