Why call us Spanish :O Sounds like calling Canadians...English...

I may refer to them as Spanish if I'm talking about demographics.
E.g Blacks consist of anyone not white, or of brown skin.
Technically, no one is 'Spanish' besides the Spaniards. It's the whole African American =/= Blacks.
Nobody calls Mexicans "Spanish". They must have said "hispanic" and you heard wrong.

I hear it all the time. Maybe it's the other way in the US, I guess. But here in Canada anyone who speaks Spanish is "Spanish"...

Uhh no. Latinos are called Spanish a lot these days...
WTF are you talking about? Nobody calls Mexicans, Spanish...

This.
Unless OP you mean the conversation was about their language... but I've never heard someone call a Mexican that.
Latin, Latino, and Hispanic - yes.
I hear it in the US a lot. But it is used to refer to their language, not their nationality. If someone calls a Mexican Spanish, they mean that the person speaks Spanish, not that they are from Spain. stanleycup98
Exactly, should I call Brazilians...Portuguesee?

why in gods name would you do thatPeople on OT have referred to Mexicans and Hispanics in general as "Spanish people". It's pretty obvious why, but it's still inaccurate. Kind of like how the Amish refer to Anglophones as "English" even if they aren't of English descent.WTF are you talking about? Nobody calls Mexicans, Spanish...

Why call us Spanish :O Sounds like calling Canadians...English...pspdseagleBecause they speak spanish. I call canadians English. Depends on what you are referring to.
Why do, people, put commas where they don't, belong?Dark__LinkWhy do people assume gaming forums are their English class? Why do people care so much about other people's spelling/grammar? Why do people think anyone cares about making a grammar mistake over a gaming forum?
