Why do people hate Nascar?

It's just so boring it's like: "OMFG a left turn!!!", and "Oh boy he just executed that left turn with absolute percision look at that!!!" I don't even think the drivers can remember how to make a right turn after a race.-Big_Red-

Formula 1 is so much better and even that isn't the most exciting stuff to watch.Loonie

I agree, I'll watch rally racing any time I can. Love watching that kind of racing.

I hate nascar for a lot of reasons.

1. Five hundred or so laps in a giant circle.
2. It is uneventful except for the occasional crash.
3. It's just plain boring.

It's like watching WWE or whatever they call it these days, just hours of boredom. I have even more reasons, but it's late and I'm too tired to list them all.

its not just NASCAR, its any sport where all you do is go around a circle over and over and over again. I dont like NASCAR, but I also dont like horse racing or the Indy 500, etc.

On the other hand, I love car races where the track zigzags and goes through all kinds of neat terrain.

Nascar racing is one long commercial, where a clutter of advertisements take left turns over and over.

I think a better question judging by this thread's responses (which I agree with) would be Why do people not hate Nascar?

I don't really see the appeal of watching cars drive in a circle a few hundred times, and it appears that I am not alone. :PGabuEx

the funny thing is that A LOT of people go to NASCAR. I am talking hundreds of thousands of people per event! Where do they come from?!?! Cuz outside of my dad (who has never been to a race), I know of zero fans.

I bet that's how demolition derbies started. Somebody was watching NASCAR and watched a massive crash. Then they thought "Hey, I could make this infinitely more interesting by just getting rid of all the racing and replacing it all with continuous crashes!"
