why do people hate teenagers?

i always see comments on yahoo articles that attack teens and say things like "instead of using horses to pull a trailer why not hitch it to a bunch of teenagers"

comments like those get my blood boiling, they act like they werent a teenager before

I would never hitch my trailer to a bunch of teenagers. They'd be too lazy to pull, would spend half the time doing drugs, and the other half vandalizing my trailer.

A goot bit of teenagers think things like:

• Cell phones
• computers
• internet access
• cars
• etc

are all rights.

Which could be why they're hated.

I've seen students who just graduated college think their all that too though, all big and bad because they just got their degree and clearly possess unmatched intellect. Clearly! :lol:

No, I wasn't trying to assume that you are a recent college grad. I mentioned that college grads can be egotistical too. The bigger point was that it isn't just teens who have superiority issues.

Nitpicking at grammar just comes across as smarmy on a video gaming forum much less

All the excuses in the world dont matter...I was a teenager once. I never acted hateful to anyone...EVER..Never cussed around my mom,gma or anyone in my family..and rarely did around my friends..I never flipped people off, never got in fights, never did drugs, or anything..Im in the minority im sure..I wasnt perfect..I did get in trouble for skipping like 45days of school and I have been in jail for shoplifting for a few hours..I was dumb at times..BUT never a bad person..NEVER would I have EVER disrespected an adult EVER..when I was young you respected adults and people in general. NOW...GET OFF MY LAWN!!!

I don't hate teenagers. But I'll tell you why some people do.

From an adult's point of view, they know where you've been already. I remember back when I was 14. I swore up and down that I knew everything. And I wasn't even one of the bad ones. Some of the worst ones acted like they were smarter than the President (let's try to avoid the presidential insults if the president isn't somebody you agreed with in the 90s when I was a teen) despite the fact that they was failing algebra. Some teens can be really disrespectful and actually make it a point to show that they don't respect any form of authority whether it's a teacher, a police officer, or somebody in the military. For me, there are few things more annoying than a 15-year old kid telling me that he knows more about combat than I do because my trips to Iraq don't mean crap compared to his legitimate 12th prestige on Black Ops. Basically, they can't wait until you grow up and lose your superiority complex since they know a lot of teens have one.

From another teen's point of view, they may be annoyed with their peers. The passive ones are usually eaten alive by the aggressive ones. I remember being made fun of because I was still a virgin at the age of 13. Go figure, at 13 I was more concerned about getting Final Fantasy 3 for SNES than trying to get laid because I actually had the common sense to know that at 13 I would have lasted all of five seconds while possibly being a 14-year old dad if I got laid back then. Peer pressure is horrible and I see it even today when I talk to kids in school while working. For some strange reason I got lucky and didn't get any peer pressure to do drugs, which I find shocking looking back since I went to high school right outside of Atlanta GA with the heavy drug flow there.

From a preteen's point of view, you get everything they want. You're bigger than them and you get more time on Xbox than them. You're also allowed to watch a PG-13 movie by yourself.

So you refused to swear but you skipped school and shoplifted? Priorities backwards? Anyway yea, the most annoying thing about teens is that they have no respect for anyone (in general). I also hated all of the druggies and punk skaters who everyone though was really cool, until senior year when we all sent in our college applications :D

I hate the way people think of teenagers, but I understand it. I'm 15, and I consider myself to be very mature for my age, I have long hair though, and it's not wild either, but adults probably still look at me as a punk because of that. Some of the kids in my grade fit right in to the stereotypes though...
