Beacuse its gone from people messing about with no real aim other than to be socail to people now trying to be popular with that goal effecting everything they do.
to much unneeded sarcasm in serious threads, rap hate threads when the TC knows the outcome of it before creating thread, to many religious threads that get out of hand, and racism threads that get out of hand. Theres also the girl advice thread which do get old , sometimes.

Well I don't see this place as a big deal. All you people are text on a screen :P I'll never meet any of you so IDC. I just post here for laughs and other stuff while I listen to music. ;)
Old OT mods were more leanient. There were also amazing users that made me go back to OT again and again. Also, "hijacking" of threads was common and led to fun and interesting conversations.
Old OT also had, like the handsome poster said above, more cowbell.
Current OT is, from the little (but scary) things I've seen while I took a visit, a cleaner version of /b/. (I actually see too much fourchan things in OT nowadays).
It's not worse, it's just this time of year (schools out) that people over use the same thread idea, or post a suicide thread, or just plain want to disrupt what ever serious thread comes along. To me it's the same as ever.
In most things in life, people who have been around a certain thing for a while will always say that the old stuff was better. Music, movies, games, TV, just about every forum on the internet, etc.

That doesnt really mean much, yes some people get disinterested with stuff over time, but What if the old stuff was actually better? And in the opposite direction, according to that theory people who have liked games for ages are going to prefer Pong to GTA by virture of its old age :|
