What type of under armor are you refurring to? Padding is to absorb shock which is less of an impact on the body... If it is just a thin sheet of cloth then it isn't armor friend...
Although, looks are a big factor with Under Armor, they are actually useful. They have cool and warm weather gear. One keeps you cool when it's hot and the other warm when it's cool. Depending on your sport this can be quite useful.

Im talking about the clothing brand, athletes and stuff wear it.As misleading as the name suggests from what I've seen it is basically a wicking layer, which transports moisture away from your body and keeps body temperature down. It can also keep you warmer in the colder temperatures by acting as an extra layer of cloth.
I bought similar shirts for wearing underneath my T-Shirt when I went on trekking trips.
I want to buy some. Its purpose is generally to regulate perspiration and body temperature during sports.nick3333I really wanna get some shorts, can I get them at a sporting good store like Big 5 or something, or do I have to order online?
It keeps you warm playing sports(or cool depending on the type, though the kind that keeps you warm is the most common) and gives you a bit of protection. My question to you is how in the world do you not know what under armor is for?:shock::?ligerz76I know what it's for, I was just wondering WHY people wear it, I was wondering what benefits it brought, and why I see people who aren't even playing sports wearing them, you now the "ballers" and stuff.

Yeah, I honestly am not sure. It isn't very often that I come across someone who wears it just for the hell of it though.

under armor is a garment specifically geared towards fitness, when people work up a sweat the micro fiber absorb the sweat and reciprocate it to the otherside of the clothing so you keep dry, this is the cool gear, the sweat then gets dried out which formulates a cooling effect. It's great, plus it's pretty stylish, probably why people where it casually. There's no real reason to wear any specific brand if you think about it.
I use it to keep warm, works amazing when you wear it under a long sleeve shirt. Looks decent too, although I never wear it outside of sports.drowningfish999
pretty much right.. and keeps you drier
Can someone please tell me exact what kinda stuff they make and how popular it is, i know they make kits for American football teams. There trying to get into Europe and have signed a record-breaking sponsorship deal to make Wales rugby kit (was Reebok), and i hope they dont wreck it and make it all American football or something.
Hope they realise Rugby's got hell of a lot more history behind it, 150 years for Wales. Not bashing or anything just dont want them coming in and ruining the kit.
Just want an idea of what to expect.
The under armor tight boxers push the sweat away from your privates to keep them dry, and help support them.
The short sleeve tight heat gear keeps you cool and dry(pushes sweat away from your body).
The long sleeve tight heat gear does the same thing, except it does your arms too.
The cold gear insulates you and keeps you warm.

I wear it to keep warm in november for marching band. When it gets below zero, hails, and rains, you wish you had it. And for those who don't know what it is, it essentially tights that keep you warm. LuminouslightThat sucks. And I thought below 50 was cold. I've never felt weather below freezing in my entire life.

I primarily wear it under my uniform when we are doing a preformance, and it still is cold....
I suppose the worst time we had to march in was when it either started hailed, or rained about 4 inches in an hour, you honestly couldn't here any instructions because the rain was so loud >_< .
