I just feel they are all different tastes and I don´t really see a reason to hate any of them
I might be generalizing but most people who like rock hate rap/hip hop/pop

[QUOTE="MrLions"]Yay generalizing! scorch-62Beat me to it.
true but you would be lying if you told me most people who listen to rock don´t hate rap/hip hop/pop
I wouldnt say all but I would say a lot of em do. Usually the ones that i've seen are the ones that like rock and are gamers. They'll clown hip-hop/rap to their face turn blue speaking as if rock is the only good genre out in the world of music. AND when if one was to say Rap/Hip-hop isnt music , even if they were proven wrong, they'll still deny it.
The cultures that surround the two can quite often be at odds with one another. "Stereotypically", rap and hip/hop seem to glorify wealth, celebrity, and excess. While rock, again "stereotypically", idolizes hardship and the rejection of popular society. Obviously there are exceptions to both stereotypes (see Glam Metal, or early Gangsta Rap). That's my unprofessional take on it.
And this is all a terrible generalization of both genres, which is why somone who says that they hate the entirety of one genre or the other, should probably be ignored.
i like metal and classical and absolutely despise rap/ hip hop.
1. it doesnt give me what BTBAM gives me.
2. it doesnt give me what Bach gives me.
i like both. it gets to repetitive listening to the same thing again and again. one day iim listening to metal. then the next day im listeening to raggae
Even with that rap has been insanely popular for decades now. I know you say often but if you ignore most of the mainstream garbage you will find some decent tracks.Rap is often very obscene, violent, and hate filled. Isn't it obvious whythe vast majority ofpeople don't like it?

Because people like certain things about rock that are lacking in rap...like..guitar..and actual singing..
i guess it's because it's sorta like the polar opposite genre. When 2 genres of music differ that much, people who like one are bound to hate the other and vice versa. Just like people who like gothic music generally hate ska. It's the polar opposite genre in my opinion.
I just dislike. It's not in my taste.

I feel just like you, I don´t really like them but I don´t hate them however it seems like some people hate them and that everytime they hear about rap/hip hop/pop they say it´s garbage
also the reason why I respect them is because they know who they are and don´t try to be something they are not like a lot of of the "rock bands" in this times
nice display picture. anyway people seem to generalize it as obcene, perverted, violent, and drug filled. which most is, but it doesnt bother me. i feel like certain rappers provide more original rhythms and there is a broader range of different sounding songs in hip hop then rock. Most people are only exposed to what is played on the radio/tv, and most mainstream hip-hop is garbage.

I don't listen to rock, rap or hip-hop but I don't hate any of those. As for pop..... I hate it because it's terrible. Simple as that.
Rock is the same damn way :|Rap is often very obscene, violent, and hate filled. Isn't it obvious whythe vast majority ofpeople don't like it?

What are you talking about? Songs like "Make them suffer" by Cannibal Corpse are clearly pushing forward an agenda of peace, love, and brotherhood :|. I mean just check out some of these lyrics:
Extreme pain is what they need to feel for the rest of their lives
Misery and Despair leaves thier souls when infinity ends
Let them taste the wrath as the agony consumes them
Swallowed by the darkest light a blackened state of dismay
