Why do so many Naruto fans hate Sakura?

I just don't know why so many people hate her for. Lots of people say that she's weak/useless and is mean to Naruto. Well she defiantly isn't weak since she has defeated Sasori and sort of helped Naruto and Sasuke fight against Madara and Kaguya. She also isn't useless as she has saved a lot of peoples lives (Hinata, Kankuro and tons more)

Also, when people say stuff like she's mean to Naruto because she hits him, she rarely does that and when she does, it's mainly for comic relief.

Sakura is one of my favourite characters in the series. One of the reasons why I like her is that she isn't a typical cutesy anime girl and I found her to be a very relatable character. Why do people hate her so much? O_o

People spite her for her stupid obsession for a renegade shinobi who shunned her, spurned her confessions and feelings, and then later tried to kill her twice and then turning around and doing almost the same thing to the one who's always supportive of her, protective of her, all around a much better guy, and most importantly, someone who actually loves her, the main character.

It's a bit too much like real life. <_<

I don't personally hate Sakura, She's not all that good to me and if a person ask me if I were to have Sex with her, my answer is, Hell no. I find Hinata to be the most interesting character then Sakura.

Hinata was supposed to be on the spotlight in shipudden. I have no idea why on earth did kishimoto changed it at the last minute.

Its not the weakness or uselessness that I find urksome, its her constant bitching and whining about it, Sakura may have gotten stronger but thats pretty much it, shes not significantly more confident or any more mature than she was in the beginning,...... Shes nothing compared to the all mighty Lady Tsunade (who was also kinda of dumb when she 1st appeared with the whole haemophiliac thing) !

All in All, shes significantly more tolerably than Naruto and his one track mind....

Her duster should help her fill the role intended.

Anyhow she is the persona of "normal" reactions in naruto. Easily related to what a fan is rather than would like to be. So she is hated, and most chances are, was always designed to be hated. Character's are designed, if well, to be likable even if "bad guys". You have the very popular stupid character but they make people laugh so they are liked. Sakura's role is.. well... is what it is. And her ending showed.

This is why Sakura is hated.

Hinata is more appealing to the nerd demographic.

Because she is such a ball-breaking bitch, or at least was in the original naruto seeing how she admittedly improved in shippuuden. Regardless of whether you like her or not she was for a considerable part of the show useless and nothing but a nuisance, playing mostly annoying and uninspiring parts in the plot. It wasn't until shippuuden that she was transformed to be tolerable and barely interesting or just neutral. You could easily do away with her character and neither the plot nor the quality of the show would suffer one bit.

But we can forget about all of this and just tolerate her for better or worse. Her obsession with a rogue fledgling who attempted to annihilate her entire village takes it all a bit too far.

I did hate her, but i didnt care for her and found her annoying at times.

She did nothing worth in the series (except for that epic Sasori fight) and got way too much screen time (I guess for the manga it would be panel time) on the series for how little she did.

There were alot of other great characters that I liked that barely ever showed up in Shippuden (like Kiba, Chino, Neji, Lee, Guy, Hinata, Garaa's people, ect).

To me it was never a "Sakura vs Hinata" thing some fans had. I liked Hinata as a character and would of like the see her progress and see her fight and do stuff, but she was barely showed in Shippuden. I never cared for the hinted love story of Hinata and Naruto. I hated Naruto the character to be honest.

Sakura... there is nothing really wrong with her, but she was just to basic and plain of a character (in Shippuden). She started off great in Shippuden with that Sasouri fight, but that was it cuz after whatever she did or showed up in didnt matter at all. Her "I love Sasuke" melodrama and her "I dont think I love him anymore" sillinest was a waste of time and not important or necessary, and the more she would talk about it, the more annoying it got cuz nobody cared about that.

Im talking from the Manga, I havent seen the episodic show since 2010.

Yeah no, I'm calling bullshit on that. She didn't fight him alone, she had Chiyo with her to help her. Actually Sasori could have killed Sakura but then Kishimoto did an ass pull by Sakura bringing up some medicine crap that would help her ease the poison she had later in the fight simply because he does not want any of his main characters to die while other good supporting characters die off like Neji, Asuma and Jiraiya. This also happened with Deidara and Sasuke, there is no way that Sasuke could have avoided that suicide explosion but again, it was Kishimoto's doing.

That's not the only thing that ticked me off about Sakura, she's in general just really annoying, weak, and pretty much useless all in all. She contradicts herself especially in terms of her relationship with Sasuke as well.

Meh, I never really hated her. In the first series she was kind of whiny and useless, but so was Nartuo, he just had more dumb luck. In Shippuden I actually ended up liking her more than many of the "main" characters. She actually becomes somewhat useful but not in an absurdly overpowered way, and most of the time she (unlike Naruto) isn't a total oblivious dumb ass. She's definitely one of the more "normal" characters, which is a nice change of pace from over the top good, bad, or stupid. My main issue with her is her stupid obsession with Sasuke. Seriously, you had a crush on a dude 2-3 years ago, when you were a kid, now he is a murdering terrorist who has (on and off) sided with the enemy, and you still spend all day obsessing over him? Come on. Sort of tangent here, but I never got why people like Hinata. She is even more useless than Sakura and has never had a line of dialog that isn't "oh Naruto..."

Never really felt one way or another about her...to me she's one of those characters that could just disappear from the show and it would take me a year to notice she was gone...then again, I could barely tolerate Naruto until the last story arc, so if they both disappeared from the show I'd be fine with it...put any of the other characters replacing Naruto and the show could only improve...

@CountBleck12: You probably should use spoiler tags. A lot of people in this forum (like me) are a bit behind on the show and I only saw one of the things you mentioned about 2 weeks ago, so you almost spoiled it for me =P

Lots of Hatred towards Sakura stems from the fact that Naruto is the underdog and she is the love interest who chose the cooler 'bad boy'. That can initially strike the chord with any 'geek'. But the real problem with her character is the handling of her development and justifications for her actions.

Shippuden was supposed to be her moment of growth. We got to see her fight Akatsuki and show off her training with Tsunade. She finally became a strong and reliable character.

Since then, her character slowly degraded in the same useless and naive role of the first series. Her obsession with Sasuke was never wholefully justified and the same running gags that permuted every interaction with Naruto has run its course.

If I can use one word to describe Sakura, its "Annoying"

I don't know, I haven't watched Naruto in years (it was good, but hundreds of episodes is just too much of a time sync), but I remember liking Sakura. My guess is that people just don't like as much as Naruto or Sasuke and that makes her a low rung on the main characters and probably a lower rung than some of the characters that show up later in the series.

Yeah no. Stupid plot, stupid characters, no emotions, useless deaths..... one of the most boring manga that I've read recently.

Yeah, those exaggerated 'emotional' deaths are better than anything anime industry has to offer, right?

Now granted, she does surprisingly actually do something after this moment of self-pitty. But I think she perfectly sums up her entire character with these few sentences.
