Why do so many people have "goofy" ringtones?

I use ringtones that fit my personality.

So, I use a lot of nerdy movie theme songs :P

I just keep my phone on vibrate

meh i have ringtones of my favorite verses from my favorite songs. i dont get embarrassed when it goes off.

if you dont like my ringtone, i couldnt give two sh!ts.

if im in an area where its not acceptable to have my ringtone on, i have it on vibrate, but i hardly am in that position so Hollywood Undead ringtones it is.:cool:

I don't hear many weird ringtones these days though, most are those standard ringtones and it feels rather hipster-ish to me. It's like they all went "omg most people have special ringtones! Gotta be different, gotta hipster so lemme put this on standard! Yeah look how little I care! "

My ringtone sounds like a truck backing up. It's great, especially standing around in busy parking lots.

But you just reminded me to download some songs to give specific ringtones to each of my friends... Just got my Galaxy Nexus and haven't personalized it yet.

My ringtone doubles as my alarm when on the road. It's not really embarassing as it's just the alarm clocks from Pink Floyd's Time.

I use a jazz remix of the Marble Zone theme from Sonic the Hedgehog (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0mTq4W8K7I: at 0:48).

I don't find it embarrasing at all. Either I get commented for using jazzy tone from people who've never heard the song, or I get the couple of Sonic fans loving the ringtone simply because it's Sonic. It went off when I was in a Bio class once and my teacher gave me 5 bonus on our test we were taking at the time because he's a Sonic fan.

I'd like to ask the exact opposite. How come some of you spend time on customizing your phone with different themes, fonts and all that but when it comes to the ringtone, you keep a standard old school ringtone. Wannabe-hipsters I say!

Because they sound annoying, would be my guess. That's ceratinly why I usually leave my phone on vibrate.

Mine's the Mario theme.

I have it because I laugh when I hear it, and I enjoy playing Mario. It's not exactly mind-boggling.

The only ringtone I have on my Android is for SMS. It yells "You got a fvcking message!!!". My phone's always on vibrate but on the street is on loud so it makes me laugh. Other than that I don't have stupid ringtones.

I guess whats "goofy" to you, might be great to someone else..go figure..all I have to complain about is how loud our nation is with all the cell phones ringing and going off all the time..

Might have to change my ringtone to Aquatic Ruin Zone, Lava Reef Zone 1(tears everytime I hear it), or Final Zone

Nothing ever beats the original music, but it's nice to change it up now and again.
