Why do some people tease handycap people?

ok, so i was standing in front of the building i work in... drinking a smoothy enjoying a nice warm day when a person with cerebral palsy limped by. these two dudes walked by him making fun of him and laughing. by the time they got to where i was standing.....i stuck my foot out and tripped one of the guys, he fell and tore a hole in his pants leg. I said "now that was funny!". the guy screams "whats wrong with you A-hole!!" and starts calling for a cop standing across the street, so i hurried back into the building and now i'm here telling you guys this while i'm eating pizza laughing.

i think i was wrong but ppl who tease disable ppl just makes me upset. do yo think i was wrong for doing that? i couldn't think of anything else to do, i don't even know why i did it.

It's ignorance. Some people can't help if they are handicapped or have a disorder...Then again, ignorant people can't help if they are stupid.

I would say something and start a scene, but that's me.

People make fun of handicaps for the same reason they make fun of race, religion, etc. It's just kind of a universal rule that you make fun behind their back. (Not like those two guys you mentioned). Anyone who knows what I'm talking about watches South Park.

People pick on disabled people because they are insecure themselves in some way, and hide that behind what they think is machoism. Its wrong and sick.

An example of this would be the nazis, blaming the economic depression on the Handicaped and the care they receive, so he killed them.

People don't like people who are different from them sometimes this results in making fun of them

yes i did, but i also dropped my smoothie trying to get back in the building in a hurry. =( a whole lot of Karma happened in like 2 minutes. i feel good but kinda bad at the same time.

well the cerebral palsy guy would have found it harder to get up... thus it being funnier. Hell he'd probably hurt himself more in the processs of falling too.. its win, win.
