Why do the Archie Comics always end with dialogue in an Exclamation Mark!

Has anyone ever noticed this!

Every time someone says something!

It always ends with an exlamation mark (!)!

Wait!

Shouldn't I be using a "?" for these questions!

Can't say as I've never read an Archie comic!

They are always excited! Archie has a crazy lifestyle!

This is funny, because when I was learning English I was actually given a huge stack of Archie comic books, and apparently started using a lot of exclamation points in my writing afterwards.

Marvel used to this all through the 70's and 80's. Maybe in the 90's as well. Used to drive me nuts.

It must be cheaper to print an exclamation point instead of a question mark!

The actual comic exists, but the caption above Archie's head has been changed. :P
