Japanese get like extra tracks compared to the Albums we get in the U.S. and we make 60% of the music and Canada and european nations make the rest, so why do the Japanese get special treatment? For example Linkin Park album Hybrid Theory has 12 track in the U.S. edition but it has 14 in the Japanese one and LP is Amercians from SoCal(Southern California)! Why Why Why...........anyone know?

Who knows. Maybe those tracks are terrible, and they don't want US and Canadian citizen's to suffer through them.

Because it's not their music and it's not their language. So they give them a little somehting extra to encourage them to buy it. They have their own music besides foreign music. So the record labels take a few b-sides and add them to the japanese version so they can slap a sticker on it saying "featuring two all new tracks" To encourage them to buy it. Also they have many many more import shops than we do so usually they can get our american release records. So if they already have fallout boy or whatever flash in the pan crap album you guys are referring to, the US version. When it is released in their country they need a little something extra to help them decide to buy it.

Total BS right there. In fact it is the exact opposite. There is plenty of discrimination when it comes to gaijins, ESPECIALLY if they are from China....

Isnt it just because the albums have been out longer and are re-released with extra tracks? they do that here with re-releases

There are several reasons for this. The japanese market is deregulated so they can basically buy anything from anywhere. The cost of a Japanese CD is roughly twice that of what a typical person pays in the UK or US. Because of this many artists add extra tracks to entice the record shop owners to carry their product and to make their product look more enticing to the buying public who could easily buy the original import album for less money.

Bascially it's a way to insure the Japanese product is the more desirable one despite it being much more expensive. Japan is also still a huge market for buyers and labels are very demanding there so the promise of extra tracks is often included in a signing deal.

Probably for the same reason that European games get extras perhaps? There's a incentive here to make sure people buy it.

What I'm thinking. Japanese are more tolerant of bad music because it's Western.

I haven't been to japan so I don't know if this is true for every album, but I think you're taking this from a local record store experience.

When you go the the import section you'll notice that just about every IMPORT album has extra tracks on it, and this may give you the idea that these counties get extra tracks on all their albums.  The problem is there's no incentive for your record store to sell an IMPORT album that's exactly the same as the one sold in the US.

We don't want them to nuke us, as we've nuked them. We figured that about a thousand years worth of extra music will make up for it.
