Why do they always make the monsters to chase after the women/girls first?

Anyone one knows why?

Women are universally seen as more vulnerable (please don't turn this into a discussion on women's rights, biologically speaking it's true). Seeing women being chased down is frightening for everyone.

It usually the expecting ones who doesn't have a clue on the dangers near by and are the most rebellious or most adventurest of the bunch. It kind of how it gose.

Girls are clean, who would want to eat a filthy man? Girls are like fruit that wash themselves.

Watching a women or child usually creates a greater emotional response.

Watching a man die, in comparison, is quite tame. We expect men tofight or get in harms way and we know they might die, but we don't consider women and children for that role, so when we see them getting butchered, it creates a better atmosphere of horror.

It's because they are easy targets. Everyone knows women are slow, stupid, and unable to defend themselves. They should just get back in the kitchen.

Actually I think it would be more frightening to see a guy get taken out because men are supposed to be 'tough.' But I agree with the first part of your post.

The monster might be wanting to get it on , Or maybe tries to kill the sandwich Makers first so everyone dies of starvation. Yea i said it now and go make me a sandwich or i domestic way abuse you.

Isn't it ironic though ... that yeah the monsters most of the time go after the women first -- BUT majority of the leads in scary/slasher/horror movies are female? They are the ones who "beat" the bad guy -- and bad guy is almost always A GUY? Sajedene
