its not about him personally coming from Africa, people often self-identify where their family and ancestors originated from. and i think there are worse things that he could be called than African-American so i wouldn't worry about itobsolete2k1
That's not the point either. The point is he is half Black and half white. It's really ignorant and rude to call him African-American because you are cutting out half his heritage. I know many biracial people and almost none of them present themselves as being Black or African-American. They like being referred to as Mixed, Biracial, or even just Black and White.

I dont think it's ignorant or rude...Certain 'mixed' people associate with a particular race.
