The reason they have tables is so that when the booths are taken up people will be forced to sit at the tables, which are generally less comfortable then the booths, so then those people will eat faster and then they can sit more people faster. Its all about how fast the company can make money. So then the faster people eat the faster they make money. That is why there are not that many booths compared to tables.
Best of both worlds. Some like booths, some like tables. Plus, a restauraunt owner can fit a lot more people into a relatively small space if he/she has both booths and tables. Plus large parties can be fit into the space much better with a table.

because 1 fat guy taking up a whole booth with his several different meals looks alot worse than 1 fat guy at a table with several different meals, we keep the tables so fatties don't feel so bad. :D
