Why do woman go to the bathroom together?

I'm a girl, but don't really understand it either. In fact, I often deliberately go to the bathroom alone just to confuse people further =P But I think reasons could include

• so that they can talk about you and you can't hear
• so that if the door doesn't lock properly they can take it in turns to hold it closed for each other
• to get opinions on whether their hair, make-up, etc looks OK

Yup =P Well, when you're younger anyway. I know at my school, half the cubicles didn't have proper locks, and trying to hold the door shut with one foot while you pee is not very elegant =P So maybe we learn it when we're young, and it becomes a habit for life?

Although having said that, a similar thing actually happened to me in a club - I ended up holding the door shut for some complete stranger because it didn't lock properly.
